James & Martha Gilmore 1897 James Heard and Martha Camilla (CARTWRIGHT) GILMORE lived 4 miles West of Talbotton (according to James' obit). This should be near Geneva.
James Heard GILMORE and the lady in the gateway is
Martha Camilla (CARTWRIGHT) GILMORE.
The lady behind the gate has not been identified, but the
GILMORE's had four unmarried daughters. My assumption is that
it is Martha Ann GILMORE or Sarah E. GILMORE.
Three of the four unmarried daughters are buried with their parents in
Cox Cemetery near Geneva, Talbot County, GA (Sarah E., Martha Ann, and
Clara).
Sarah E. - b: 22 Feb 1847 - d: 17 May 1899
Martha Ann - b: 1 Feb 1852 - d: 4 Jun 1907
Clara - b: 1 Apr 1858 - d: 29 May 1941
Parents:
James H., Sr. - b: 3 Mar 1821 - d: 22 Sep 1905
Martha Camilla - b: 21 Aug 1821 - d: 30 May 1898

Willie Anna Gilmore Pictured is Willie Anna Gilmore as a child (1871). She was born 18 Apr 1864 in Talbot County, Georgia to Martha Camilla Cartwright and James Heard Gilmore. She was the ninth and last child born to this union. On 14 Feb 1883, she married William Samuel Blair in Talbotton, Talbot County, Georgia. To this union was born 10 children, five daughters and five sons. The fourth child, Anna Belle Blair, died as an infant (about 1890-about 1890). Willie Anna Blair died 6 Jan 1908 in Canton, Van Zandt County, Texas and was buried 9 Jan 1908 in Morris Chapel Cemetery, Canton, Van Zandt County, Texas. She was survived by her spouse and nine children: Ennice, Charles Samuel (Charlie), James Everett, Henry Clifford (Cliff), Guy Gilmore, Martha Camilla (Clara), Ruby Clara, Emma Lexie, and William Southern (W.S., Jr., or Bill). Her short 43 years, 9 months were busy. The family relocated Talbot County to Harris County, Georgia (1900 Census), and then to Van Zandt County, Texas. The move to Texas was made by rail boxcar.
