Died
At the residence of Mr. Jesse Mott, in this county, Dec. 1st, ’91, Mrs. Mary A. McMillan.  Mrs. McMillan was formerly Mrs. Law, and afterward became the wife of Major L.D. McMillan – daughter of Starling and Sarah Pittman.  She was born Oct. 26th 1818 and was consequently in the 74th year of her age.  In early life she joined the Methodist church, in which she lived a consistent member until her death, and was never heard to complain at the ills of oppression of life, but like a true follower of the Lord Jesus she bore everything with patience, and died in full view of a glorious immortality beyond the grass.  She was in every way a devoted companion, a good neighbor, and a friend to those in need.  Those who knew her best loved her most.  Truly a shining light and a happy life has gone to meet her Lord.  She left no children, but an aged mother, one sister and one brother and many friends to mourn her loss.
