Died
At her home in the southern portion of this county on Wednesday morning last at
2 o’clock, Mrs. Hill, the estimable wife of Mr. H.H. Hill. Her death is
supposed to have been caused from fever, though she had recently given birth to
a child, which died about a week previous to that of its mother. She was the
daughter of Mr. John Floyd, of this county and had been married to Mr. Hill
about two years, with whom she had lived happily. She leaves besides a
devoted husband, a tender babe, about one year old, and many friends and
relatives to mourn her loss. Mr. Hill, we are sorry to say has been very
unfortunate – this being the fourth wife he has lost since his first marriage.
Additional Comments: Note - Camilla Floyd was the daughter of John Floyd and had
two sisters, Fannie and Mattie. Her burial place is unknown. Harris Hill, (harrishill@starband.net),
a descendant of H.H. "Hamp" Hill, shared this information with me.
