Death of Mrs. W.S. Wallace
The many friends of Mrs. W.S. Wallace will be pained to learn of her death which
took place at her home in Butler at 5 o’clock a.m., this the 9th day of
January. She was about seventy years of age; a life-long member of the
Methodist church and one of the oldest citizens of this community. She leaves a
devoted husband, one son and four daughters who call her blessed and all the
world may truly say, “A mother in Israel is at rest.” – Butler Herald

Mr. W.T. Cosby Dead
Mr. W.T. Cosby, better known as Peter Cosby, and one of the best and most
prosperous citizens of Talbot County, died at his home near Howard on Tuesday
the 9th inst. after a painful illness of several weeks. Mr. Cosby was
about 60 years of age and was well known for his many acts of kindness. By
energy and economy he became a prosperous farmer and laid up for his family a
comfortable support. He leaves a devoted family and many friends who will sadly
miss his presence and encouraging words. To them we offer our sympathy. His
remains were interred in the cemetery near Geneva on Friday. – Butler Herald
