Captain J.P. Carson died at his home near Reynolds Monday morning.  He was stricken with paralysis during Taylor court from which he never recovered.  Capt. Carson was a gallant officer in the late war and distinguished himself on numerous occasions.  He is the last of four brothers; the other three were killed in the war.  Since the war he has been engaged in the mercantile and farming interests at this place.
