Monday evening a lot of cross ties were going out to a camp on the Blakely extension when a difficulty arose between John Jones and Ned Gray, both colored.  Gray shot several times at Jones when the latter drew his pistol and killed Gray instantly and jumped from the train.  The negro killed lived at Butler.

Frank Montfort received a telegram last Friday that his few-months-old babe was dead, and he immediately left for his home at Butler.
