Mrs. Hazel Edwards, age 87 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home.  Mrs. Edwards was born Tuesday, June 29, 1920 in Towns County, GA to the late Charlie Kirby and the late Stella McConnell Kirby.  She attend Macedonia Baptist Church and was preceded in death by sister, Vita Mae Barrett.

Survivors include: husband, Oliver Edwards of Hiawassee, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Edith and Mae McNeese of Brownsburg, IN; son & daughter-in-law, N.L. and Becky Edwards of Hiawassee, GA; sisters, Blon Swanson and Dee Chastain both of Hiawassee, GA; grandchildren, Jeff Edwards, Sheree Dippel and Phyllis Clemons; great-grandchildren, Brandy Campbell, Cody Edwards, Alyssa and Kelly Dippel, Noah and Chantel Clemons; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 31, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Ledford officiating.  Music was provided by The Phillips Family.  Interment was in Burch Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were: Terry Swanson, Larry Swanson, Benny Barrett, Bruce Spiva, Truett Spiva and Dennis Mathis.  Honorary pallbearers included: Derwin Adkins, Dale Penland, Randall McConnell and Richard Langston.

Ms. Patricia Faye “Patti” Silvey, age 47 of Young Harris, GA, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2007 at her home.  Patti was born Tuesday, January 12, 1960 in Towns Co., GA to the late Lester Paul Silvey and the late Mae B. shook Silvey.  She was a member of Old Union Baptist Church.  Patti owned and operated Enchanted Valley Grocery Store in Young Harris, GA.

Survivors include: sisters, Janet & Michael Grassi of Young Harris, GA, and Jacquelyn Cordell of Young Harris, GA; brother, Gerald and Sharon Silvey of Chickamauga, GA; niece, Amanda Marie Murphy of Young Harris, GA; nephews, Jason Silvey of Valdosta, GA and Cody Silvey of Chickamauga, GA; great niece, Astrid Willow Marie Martin of Young Harris, GA; great niece, Triston Jade Silvey of Valdosta, GA.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 1 p.m. from the Old Union Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Rogers, Rev. Mark Shook officiating.  Music was by Emill Bridges and Alecia Richards.  Interment was in Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Jason Silvey, Cody Silvey, Tony Shook, Cliff Shook, Rick Shook and Doyle Brown.

Mrs. Delia Sadie Taylor, age 86 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Murphy Medical Center.  Mrs. Taylor was born Saturday, November 26, 1921 in Rabun Co., GA to the late John Henry and Savannah York Tow.  She was a member of Lower Bell Creek Baptist Church.  Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by husband, Miles Taylor, children, Bud, David, Debra and Raymond Taylor.

Survivors include: daughter, Dorothy & Earl Cantrell of Blue Ridge, GA, daughter, Glenda Neace of Hiawassee, GA, son, Harvey Taylor of Gainesville, GA, son, Floyd & Joan Taylor of Acworth, GA; daughter, Carol Moore of Winder, GA; daughter, Violet Brown of Hiawassee, GA; son, Michael & Becky Taylor of Dallas, GA; daughter, Margaret & Don Ledford of Young Harris, GA; daughter, Cathy & Tom Oakley of Warne, NC; son, John & Tammy Taylor of Kennesaw, GA; daughter, Sadie & Timmy Sullens of Dahlonega, GA; half brother, Harold Ridings of FL; half sister, Dorothy Scroggins of Gainesville, GA; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 28, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with rev. James Lee and Rev. Timothy C. Sullens II officiating.  Music was by Bobby Taylor.  Pallbearers were Timmy Sullens, Don Ledford, Travis Silvers, Caleb Taylor, Josh Taylor, Ben Brown, Keith Taylor, Emmanuel Neace and Jesse Taylor.  Interment was in Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Daniel Hyatt Moody, Jr., age 47 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Monday, December 17, 2007 at his residence.  Daniel was born Sunday, November 6, 1960 in Towns County, GA and was of the Baptist Faith.  He was preceded in death by father, Daniel Hyatt Moody, Sr.

Survivors include: mother and step-father, Jimmie Nell and Jimmy Owenby of Hiawassee, GA; son, Justin Moody of Young Harris, GA; son, Damian Moody of Robertstown, GA; daughter, Ariel Moody of Robertstown, GA and step-sister, Jamie Owenby of Hiawassee, GA.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Fielipz officiating.  Interment was in Burch Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Kirt Kimsey, Heath Kimsey, Levi Kimsey, Chad Barrett, Kenny Barrett, Kevin Barrett, mark Barrett and Travis Barrett.
