Debbie McConnell, age 45, of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2005.

Debbie was born Tuesday, May 3, 1960 in Towns County, Georgia to the late Franklin McConnell and Patricia Bowling McConnell.

Survivors include: sister, Kathy Gazaway of Dalton, GA, brother, Franklin McConnell, Jr. of Dawsonville, GA, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 26, 2005 at 2 PM from the Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Johnston officiating.  Interment followed in Burch Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were: R.J. Bowling, Logan Gazaway, Shannon McConnell, Chawn McConnell, Adam McConnell, Ryan Howe.

Ruth Marie heller

 

Little-Davenport Funeral Home of Gainesville, GA announces the death of Ruth   Marie Heller, 86, of Hiawassee.  Mrs. Heller passed away Thursday,      December 29, 2005 at NEGMC following a brief illness.

Mrs. Heller was born on November 3, 1919 to the late Frank A. and Sarah Knee Yeckley.  She is preceded in death by her parents and by her husband of 38 years, Henry Heller.

Mrs. Heller is survived by two daughters: Brenda J. Jacobs, Hiawassee, GA and Barbara J. Higgins and husband Ken of Sorrento, FL; one son, Henry A. Heller, Miami, FL; one brother, Glen Yeckley, Duncansville, PA; and one sister, Beryl Focht, Altoona, PA.  She is also survived by six grandchildren: Brian N. Roy, Colette M. Michaels, Graham M. Hudson, Scott H. Hudson, Bethany J. Hudson and Benjamin H. Hudson, and five great-grandchildren: Courtney L. Roy, Tyler L. Arrowood, Kaine Arrowood, Emmalee J. Hudson and Grace M. Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Center, P.O. Box 010789, Miami, FL 33130, in memory of Ruth M. Heller.

mr. ivan henson

 

Mr. Ivan Henson, age 84 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2005 at Chatuge Regional Hospital.

Mr. Henson was born Friday, January 28, 1921 in Haywood County, NC TO the late Allie Henson and Amanda Trulove Henson. He was a member of McConnell Memorial Baptist Church and a WWII Army Veteran.  He was preceded in death by brothers, Roy, Weldon and Evan Henson.

Survivors include: wife, Lena Henson of Hiawassee, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Angela and Roy Barrett of Hayesville, NC, son, Louis Henson of Newnan, GA, grandsons Nicholas Henson and Jeremy Henson of Newnan, GA, Gregory Barrett of Hayesville, NC, brother, Ross Henson of Douglasville, GA, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 24, 2005 at 2 PM from the Cochran Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Harold Ledford officiating.  Music was provided by Bobby Taylor.  Interment followed in Osborn Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were: Junior Kimsey, Truett Shook, David Adams, Pete Mauldin, Brian Ivey, Mark Lee, Jimmy Lee, Tony Clayton, Timothy Clayton.

anna blanche dyer

 

Mrs. Anna Blanche Dyer, age 87, of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Friday, December 30, 2005 following a period of declining health.  She was born to the late Elbert Harrison and Emma Olia (Presley) Rogers on September 5, 1918 in Towns County, GA.  She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and a retired school teacher.  She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Mr. James Garfield Dyer, of Hiawassee, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Emma & Steve Burch of Madison, GA; son and daughter-in-law Dr. Ronnie and Kay Dyer of Hiawassee, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Frances Dyer of Atlanta, GA; sister, Flo Mayes, of Oakridge, TN; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a number o9f nieces and nephews also survive.  Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 1, 2006 at 2 p.m. from Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Ledford and Rev. Davis Lacey officiating.  Special music was presented by The Macedonians, and Kay Banister.  Pallbearers were Jamie Dyer, Mike Cummings, Brandon Grimsley, Joel Rogers, Bert Rogers, Greg Rogers, Gene Rogers and Phillip Mayes.  Interment was in Macedonia Cemetery.  Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
