Mrs.
Carolyn
"Lyne" Ruth Kunze, age 57, of Jack Creek Rd., Hiawassee passed away
peacefully on Friday Dec. 24, 2010 at 12 a.m. in the Union General
Hospital
following complications with cancer. Mrs.
Kunze was born on Oct. 16, 1953 in Greenville, SC, the daughter of the
late
Kenneth and Carolyn Tatham. Carolyn
always made the most of what she had. She
was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs.
Kunze was of the Christian faith.
Surviving
Mrs. Kunze
are one daughter and son-in-law, Jaymi and Reid Johnstone of
Greenville, SC,
three grandchildren, Collin, Cameron and Mary Grayson, aunt, Carolyn
Godfrey. Surviving her locally are her
former husband
and caregiver, Max Kunze and his father Bert Kunze, also the many dear
friends
she had made over the nine years which she had lived in Towns County. She also leaves behind her constant canine
companions, Sissy and Misha, many other relatives and friends also
survive. We
will all miss you.
No
services are
planned at this time. In lieu of flowers
if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the
Mountain
Shelter in memory of Mrs. Kunze.

Derek
Marshall, age
38, of Young Harris, GA, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010.
Derek was
born
September 7, 1972 in Gainesville, GA. He
was member of Woods Grove Baptist Church.
Derek is
survived by
his parents, Peggy Marshall and John Cozart of Young Harris, GA, aunts,
Gloria
King of Young Harris, GA and Linda and Otis Burdette of Young Harris,
GA,
uncle, Floyd and Dorothy Marshall of Piedmont, SC, cousins, Kay Hayes
of
Hiawassee, GA, Sharon Taylor of Ft. Meade, FL, Randy Marshall of
Clayton, GA,
Ricky Marshall of Piedmont, SC, Melissa Kimsey of Hiawassee, GA and
Jason King
of Young Harris, GA.
Funeral
services for
Derek were held Saturday, January 1, 2011 at 2 p.m. from Woods Grove
Baptist
Church with Rev. Robbie Moss officiating. Music
was provided by the Moss Family. Pallbearers
were John Ashe, Gregg Taylor,
Shannon Moss, Sammy Stamey, Jessie Nicholson, and Trance King. Honorary Pallbearers were Guy Moss, Marvin
Mull, Mark Hooper, Kirt Kimsey, Jason King, Randy Marshall and Ricky
Marshall.
Interment followed in Woods Grove Cemetery.
The
family received
friends Friday, December 31, 2010 at the funeral home from 6 until 9
p.m.
