jason leon claude cothren

 

Mr. Jason Leon Claude Cothren, age 28, of Dana Drive, Gainesville and also of Towns and Union Counties, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007 in Towns County.  Mr. Cothren was born on Jan. 22, 1978 in Towns County, the son of Claude Arnold Cothren and Polly J. Berrong Cothren.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cord and hazel Cothren and Nevertt Berrong.  Mr. Cothren was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Cothren are his fiancée, Kim Holloway of Blairsville, mother, Polly Cothren of Gainesville, Claude Cothren of Young Harris, grandmother, Robbie Berrong of Blairsville, two brothers and one sister-in-law, Josh Cothren, Scotty and Angie Stokes all of Gainesville, two sisters, Sheila Fox and Susan Tran both of Gainesville, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive.

Memorial services were held on Monday Jan. 8, 2007 5:00 p.m. from the funeral home chapel.  Rev. Tommy Jones officiated.  The family met with friends following the services.

elizabeth ann daniels

 

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Daniels, age 66, of County Line Rd., Young Harris passed away on Thursday Jan. 4, 2007 at her home following an extended illness.  Mrs. Daniels was born on Aug. 23, 1940 in Knox County, IL, the daughter of the late James Weldon Smith and the late Ruby Joan Thurman Smith.  She was employed many years as a child care provider.  Mrs. Daniels was a member of the Antioch Baptist church.

Surviving Mrs. Daniels are her loving husband of forty-two years, Robert (Steve) Daniels of Young Harris, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Thomas Lee and Meldoee Daniels of Mechanicsburg, TN, Jim Morris of Plant City, FL, two daughters and one son-in-law, Connie Daniels of Young Harris, Stephanie and Joey Lawson of Plant City, FL, one brother and sister-in-law, Pleasant Earl and Eleanor Smith of McCallan, TX, one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and John Wells of Orlando, FL, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Memorial services were held on Monday Jan. 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. George Cline officiating.  Special music was presented by Becky Eernisse and Jonathan Eernisse.  In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the ovarian Cancer Research Center in Mrs. Daniels memory.

norman r. anderson

 

Mr. Norman R. Anderson, age 83, of Young Harris passed away on Monday, December 25, 2006 in the University of Kentucky Medical Center following injuries received in an automobile accident.  Mr. Anderson was born on February 21, 1923 in Chicogo, IL, the son of the late Otto Anderson and the late Signe Hanson Anderson.  He retired from the Rancel Tool and Die Company after over twenty years of service.  He was a veteran of the US Army Air Core of WWII.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Anderson in 1997 and by a son, Norman R. Anderson Jr. in 1968.  Mr. Anderson was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Anderson are his loving wife of eight years, Kathryn Wyss Anderson of Young Harris; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and Edward Kasen of Grand Rapids, MI; four step-children, Linda Massee of Greenville, SC, David Massee of Memphis, TN, Karen Merrill of Shreveport, LA, Janet Bueltel of Naples, FL; one sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Robert Sorenson of Chicago; three grandchildren, Jon Kasen, Cindi Bentley and Tim Kasen, five great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, January 6, 2007 from the Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. George Cline officiating.  Special music was presented by Joann Bond, Tammy Blassingame, Ted and Joy Noelle, Wendall and Loretta Carr.  In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Antioch Baptist Church Family Life Center in Mr. Anderson’s memory.  Interment followed in the church cemetery.
