Mrs. Amanda
Carol Ivie, age 54, of Rustic Ridge Trail, Hiawassee, formerly of
Fairhope, AL,
passed away on Friday, January 25, 2008 at her home.
Mrs. Ivie was born on September 10, 1953 in
Mobile, AL, the daughter of Velda Lyons Campbell and the late Harry
Campbell. She was preceded in death by
her father in 1994. Mrs. Ivie was of the
Episcopalian faith.
Surviving
Mrs. Ivie are her loving husband of thirty-three years, Wayne Ivie of
Hiawassee; mother, Velda Marie Campbell of Fairhope, AL; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Christopher and Laura Ivie of Fairhope, AL, Patrick and Rachael Ivie of Orange Beach, AL; one
brother, Harry Campbell, III of Mesa, AZ; one sister and
brother-in-law, Diane
and Kenny Pitt of Fairhope, AL; five grandchildren, Maggie Bruner,
Aubrey Ivie,
Mephis Ivie, Madison Ivie and Caroline Ivie; several nieces, nephews,
and many
other relatives and friends also survive.
A
memorial service was held on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. from
Mrs.
Diane Pitt’s residence in Fairhope, AL.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish, the family requests that
memorials may
be made to your local Humane Society in Mrs. Ivie’s memory.

Bruce
Youngblood, 71, of Bethel Road, Tiger, GA, husband of Evelyn Coalley
Youngblood
died Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at his residence.
Born October 6, 1936 in Towns County, GA, he
was a son of the late Lincoln and Ethel Edwards Youngblood. He was
employed
with the Georgia Game and Fish Division for 9 years, and was an
Electrical
Technician with Gordon Foods for 10 years and was a member of the
Liberty
Baptist Church.
Survivors
include his wife; Evelyn Coalley Youngblood of the home; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Mark Youngblood and wife Michelle of Tiger, GA, and
Byron
Youngblood and wife Debbie of Clayton, GA; one daughter and son-in-law,
Carol
Youngblood Harrison and husband Bill of homer, GA; one sister, Martha
Youngblood Gould of Hiawassee, GA; one sister-in-law, Roberta
Youngblood of
Clayton, GA; six grandchildren, Jake Youngblood of Clayton, GA, Luke,
Ethan,
and Sarah Youngblood of Tiger, GA, Holly and Jenny Harrison of Homer,
GA; and a
host of nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by a brother, D.L. Youngblood.
Funeral
services were held Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 1 p.m. from the
Liberty
Baptist Church with the Rev. Cranford Carnes and Layman Lloyd Hunter
officiating. Burial followed in the
Burch Cemetery in Hiawassee, GA with the Rev. Mickey Woods officiating
at the
graveside. The family was at the home on
Bethel Road, Tiger, GA and received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on
Friday,
January 25, 2008 at Hunter Funeral Home.

Shirley
Anne Myers Alferink, age 69, of Young Harris, GA, passed away Friday,
January
11, 2008 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
Shirley was born Sunday, July 17, 1938 in Campbell County, KY,
to the
late James Myers and the late Ann Pabelka Myers Wright.
She was of the Methodist Faith and was a
member of The Moose of palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Shirley was a Licensed Practical Nurse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Alferink, Sr.
and a
sister, Roberta Large.
Survivors
include: her five loving children: daughter & son-in-law, Elizabeth
and
David Beal of Young Harris; daughter 7 son-in-law, Debra and Greg
Stalvey of
young Harris; daughter & son-in-law, Jodi and John Topolka of
Miami, FL;
son & daughter-in-law, Vernon and Julie Alferink, Jr. of Hiawassee,
GA;
son, Jerry Alferink, also of Hiawassee; brothers, John Myers of
Woodstock, GA
and Jesse Wright of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; 13 grandchildren, 10
great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
No
services are planned at this time.
