Mrs.
Grace “Gigi” Furey Stamm, recently of Young Harris, GA passed gently
away
Thursday, January 31, 2008 at her family home.
Mrs. Stamm was born in Hartford County, CT.
She attended business school and then worked
at Connecticut General Life Insurance Co., lastly as the secretary to
the
President. She married and raised her
family in south Florida.
She was a wonderful mother and a great
lady! She volunteered with several
organizations the main ones being; The Lamplighters of Miami, and
completed a
term as the president of the Cancer Society’s Miami Chapter. She touched so many peoples
lives with her special love. She
assisted her late husband, James C. Stamm, in his business The Stamm
Agency
thru out the years as they moved to Boca Raton and West Palm Beach, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, her
brother Charles Furey and parents, Rose and Charles A. Furey.
Survivors
include: daughter & son-in-law, Darlyn and Paul Martin; son &
daughter-in-law, Brad H. and Karen Stamm of Pauma Valley, CA, son &
daughter-in-law, Jim and Cathy Stamm of Boca Raton, FL; sister, Roselyn
Bajek
of Andover, MA; grandchildren, Michael Martin of Young Harris, GA;
Shaena
Langley of Miami, FL, Taryn Stamm of Temecula, Ca and Ryan Stamm of
Pauma
Valley, Ca, great-granddaughter, Aurora Showalter of Temecula, CA,
special
relations, Justin and Jill martin of Cape Coral, FL, Charlyce Mandat of
Cooper
City, FL and Holly D’Errico of Londonberry, NH.
Memorial
services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the
Immaculate
Heart of Mary, in Hayesville, NC with the Father George Kloster
officiating. In lieu of flowers; as the
season is Lent – the family has requested donations to the wonderful
services
of Regency Hospice of Hiawassee, 236 S. main St., Hiawassee, Ga. 30546
in
Grace’s name.

Mrs.
Ruby Gibson Shook, age 91, of Young Harris, GA, passed away Friday,
February 1,
2008 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mrs. Shook was born Wednesday, September 220, 1916 in Union
County, GA,
to the late Wesley Gibson and the late Ollie McClure Gibson. She was a homemaker, and a member of Faith
Baptist Church. Preceding Mrs. Shook in
death was her husband, Joseph Milton Shook; a daughter and son-in-law,
Annie Jo
Shook Dyer and Bluford Dyer; a son, Harold J. Shook; a grandson, Ricky
Shook; a
great grandson, Jared Shook; and eleven brothers and sisters and their
spouses.
Family
members surviving Mrs. Shook include a daughter and son-in-law, June
and Bob
Gibby of Young Harris, GA; a son and daughter-in-law, Hubert and Evelyn
Shook,
of Blairsville; ten grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren
also survive.
Funeral
services were held Sunday, February 3, 2008, at 3 p.m. from the Chapel
of
Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Wade Plott and Brother
Bob Gibby
officiating. Music was presented by
grandchildren, Andrea and Marty Gibby.
Burial was in Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery, with the
following
grandsons serving as pallbearers: Keith Porter, Blaze Porter, Sky
Porter, A.J.
Shook, Luke Hedden, and Marty Gibby. The
family received friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 1-3:00
p.m., prior to
the funeral service. Memorials may be

Mrs.
Nettie Arlene Byers Beaver, age 79, of long ridge Rd., Hiawassee passed
away on
Saturday, February 2, 2008 in the Union County Nursing Home following
an
extended illness. Mrs. Beaver was born
on January 9,k 1929 in Monroe County, TN, the daughter of the late Jack
Gaston
Byers and the late Dobie Self Byers. She
was preceded in death by a daughter, Annelene Beaver in 1974. she was a loving
mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Beaver was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving
Mrs. Beaver are six children, Kenneth Beaver of Augusta, GA, Vernon and
Barbara
Beaver of Gainesville, GA, Claude and Maria Beaver of Mesquite, NV,
Evelyn and
Randy Hunter of Hiawassee, Hot, Jr. and Sue Beaver of Hayesville, Doug

Jennifer Beaver of Braselton, GA; one brother, Junior Byers of
Madisonville,
TN; five sisters, Mary Garrett of Etowah, TN, Katie Davis of Coker
Creek, TN,
Ruby Stanley of Dahlonega, Alice Roberts of Etowah, Gladys (Dollie)
Lynn of
Delano, TN; one stepsister, Nellie Mae Lovingood of Madisonville; six
grandchildren, Meghan, Brannon, Nate, Cody, Lucas and Brittany Beaver;
many
other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 12 p.m. from the
funeral
home chapel with the rev. Waymon Lovell and Rev. Harley Hunter
officiating. Special music was presented
by Robert
Duckworth. Serving as pallbearers were
Steve Kelley, Cody Beaver and other family members.
Interment followed in the Burch
Cemetery. The family met with friends at
the funeral home on Monday evening after 6 p.m.

Mary “Bill” Ballard Nicholson, age 78, of Hiawassee, GA, passed away
Wednesday,
January 30, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Mrs. Nicholson was born Thursday, December 26, 1929 in Clay
Couty, NC to
the late Lester Ballard and the late Monire Hollifield Ballard. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist
Church.

Ann
Hawkins Dosser, age 82, of Hiawassee, formerly of Marietta, died
Saturday,
February 2, 2008. Mrs. Dosser was a
native of Marietta and graduated Marietta High in 19942.
She was also a graduate of Emory University
Nursing School. Mrs. Dosser served in
the U.s. Army Cadet Corps during World War II.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Marietta
and
numerous civic organizations.
Mrs.
Dosser is survived by her husband, David a Dosser of Hiawassee; two
daughters,
Jane Dosser Cornett of Hiawassee and Sue Hawkins Davidson of
Chesapeake, VA;
son, Dr. David A. Dosser, Jr. of Greenville, NC; sister, Jane Hawkins
Ramsey of
Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces and
nephews.
Service
were held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2008
at First
United Methodist Church of Marietta with Dr. Sam Matthews and Rev. Sam
Storey,
Sr. officiating. Interment was in
Kennesaw Memorial Park. The family
received friends Monday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. prior to the service in
the church
parlor.
