ernest ervin “ernie” ledford

 

Mr. Ernest Ervin “Ernie” Ledford, age 91, of Hiawassee, GA., formerly of Hayesville, N.C., died Thursday, February 5, 2004 at the Chatuge Regional Hospital in Hiawassee, GA.

A native of Clay County, N.C., he was a retired construction carpenter and was of the Baptist faith.  He was a son of the late Fannin and Samantha Smith Ledford and was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Lucille Davis Ledford who died October 18, 1994.

Mr. Ledford is survived by two daughters, Marie L. Moss of Hayesville, N.C., and Janet Nations Henderson of Hiawassee, GA; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at the Townson Rose, Frank Rose, Sr. Memorial Chapel in Hayesville, N.C.  Burial will be in the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Hayesville.  Rev. Harold Ledford will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Nathan Ellis, Stacy Moss and Eric Henderson, Gene Greenway, Justin Maney and Gerold Silvey.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Kasey Cain and Cody Silvey.

Townson Rose Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

warren millard dailey

 

Mr. Warren Millard Dailey, age 78, of Young Harris, GA., passed away Thursday, February 5, 2004 following a brief illness.  He was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dailey on July 9, 1925 in Clay County, N.C.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Mae Dailey.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Marie and David Auvenshine of Waynesboro, GA; two brothers, Mr. Giles Dailey of Blairsville, GA; and Mr. Bill Dailey of Tiger, GA; one sister, Mrs. Annie Bryson, of Young Harris, GA; two grandchildren, Craig Garrison and spouse, Meredith Garrison of Hiawassee, GA., and Krista Sikes and spouse Steven Sikes of Sardis, GA; two great-grandchildren, Sara and Luke Garrison, both of Hiawassee, GA; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at 3:00 pm from the Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Young, Rev. Ricky Rogers, Rev. Steve Youngblood and Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiated.  Interment was in Old Union Cemetery.  Music was provided by the Benny Shook Family.  Pallbearers were Steven Sikes, Craig Garrison, Stanley Bryson, Wayne Bryson, Donald Keys and Jerry Dailey.  Honorary Pallbearers were Steven Phillips, David Phillips, Larry Bryson and Mark Bryson.  North Georgia Honor Guard conducted the military graveside honors.

Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee was in charge of arrangements.

danielle lynn manus

 

Miss Danielle Lynn Manus, age 13, of State Hwy 180 in Hiawassee, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2004 at her home following an extended illness.  Danielle was born on June 5, 1990 in Union County, the daughter of Rodney Kenneth Manus and Donna Lynn King Manus.  She was a lifelong resident of Towns County and had attended Towns County Middle School.  She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Otis King in 2001 and an aunt, Becky Manus Bradley in 2000.  Danielle was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Surviving Danielle are her parents, Rodney and Donna Manus of Hiawassee; one brother, Dallas John Manus of Hiawassee; step Grandfather, Bruce Lovell of Hiawassee; Grandparents, Diane Lovell of Hiawassee, Marilyn Dyer of Blairsville, Kenneth and Sallie Manus of Young Harris; Great grandmother, Mary Ruth Craig of Cleveland, GA; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 9, 2004 at 2:00 pm from Macedonia Baptist Church with pastor Harold Ledford officiating.  Eulogies were given by Stephen Smith, Principal of Towns County Middle School and by Danielle’s special friends, Sharon.  Special music was presented by Bobby Taylor and the Macedonia Church Choir.  The following gentlemen served as Pallbearers, Larry Garrett, Kevin Barrett, Kenny Barrett, Harold Kilgore, John Underwood, Bruce Lovell, Rodney Underwood and Dwayne Osborne.  Interment followed in the church cemetery.
