Mrs. Martha E. Meyer, age 77 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006 at her home.  Mrs. Meyer was born Thursday, March 29, 1928 in Johnson County, MO to the late George Ebersole, SR and the late Elsie Bohan Ebersole.  A member of SkyCrest Baptist Church in Clearwater, FL and Beta Sigma Phi.

Survivors include: husband, Bob Meyer of Hiawassee, GA, son, Robert Meyer, JR of Union City, OH, brother, George Ebersole, JR of Windsor, MO, grandson, Bobby Meyer, IL, grandson, Dylan Meyer, grandson, Austin Meyer.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 10 a.m. from the Sylvan-Abbey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Allen Simpson officiating.  Interment was in Sylvan-Abbey Memorial Park.

mr. cleveland edward wade

 

Mr. Cleveland Edward Wade, age 54, of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Friday, March 3, 2006 at his home.  Mr. Wade was born Tuesday, April 10, 1951 in Banks County, GA.  He was a member of Lower Bell Creek Baptist Church.  Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Edward Wade.

Survivors include: wife, Jeanette Wade of Hiawassee, GA, mother, Alice Wade of Toccoa, GA, son, Winford Nolan Parker of Hiawassee, GA, son, Cleveland Edward Wade, Jr. of Hiawassee, GA, son, Ricky Lynn Wade of Hiawassee, GA, brother, Roger Wade of Toccoa, GA, sister, Marilyn Cheeks of Toccoa, GA, grandsons, Blake Parker, Josh Wade and Dakota Wade.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 5, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the Lower Bell Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Satterfield officiating.  Music was provided by James Goodwin and Anthony Hunter.  Interment was in Lower Bell Creek Baptist Cemetery.

mr. emmett bobby anderson

 

Mr. Emmett Bobby Anderson, age 78 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Chatuge Regional Hospital.

Mr. Anderson was born Saturday, September 17, 1927 in Clay County, NC to the late Grady Anderson and Mattie Hogsed Anderson.  He was an U.S. Army Veteran and was preceded in death by son, Gary Anderson, sister, Emalene Anderson, brothers, Coy, R.L., Clint, Hoke and Robert Lee Anderson.

Survivors include: wife, Gladys Burrell Anderson of Hiawassee, GA, son & daughter-in-law, Bobby and Rhonda Anderson of San Diego, CA, daughter & son-in-law, Patsy and Grady Sutton of Clarksville, GA, daughter, Brenda Lusk of Hiawassee, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Loretta and Michael Harkins of Hiawassee, GA, brothers, Joe Anderson and Brownlo Anderson both of Hiawassee, GA, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 6, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Burrell and Rev. Chris Matheson officiating.  Music was provided by Lacy Underwood.  Interment followed in Pine Grove Baptist Cemetery with military honors conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard.  Serving as pallbearers were: Jody Anderson, Michael Anderson, Robby Nichols, William Burrell, Robert Bradshaw, Michael Hooper.

The family received friends at the funeral home from 6-9, Sunday, March 5.

mr. gerald white long

 

Mr. Gerald White Long, age 65 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006.  Mr. Long was born Wednesday, December 4, 1940 in DeKalb County, GA, but had lived most of his life in Towns County.  He was member of Unicoy Masonic Lodge F&AM #259, was of the Methodist Faith, and a U.S. Air Force Veteran.  Mr. Long was preceded in death by his father, Med Quinn Long.

Survivors include:  mother, Elizabeth (White) Long of Hiawassee, GA, sister, Helen Jones of Marietta, GA, brother, Arthur Quinn Long of Murphy, NC, brother, Walter Harold Long of palm Coast, FL, sister, Ann Digh of Covington, GA, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held March 1, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darris Baker officiating.  Interment was in Laurel Hills Memorial Gardens with military Honors by the North Georgia Honor Guard.  Pallbearers were Kenneth Moody, Lynn Mauldin, Ben Lilly, David Digh, Perry Nichols and Kenneth Ivester.  Honorary pallbearers were Fred Lewis and Jim Aderhold.
