mr. joel levon garrett

 

Mr. Joel Levon Garrett, age 62, of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 following an extended illness.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Sue Teague Garrett of Young Harris, GA; one daughter, Tammy Flower of Spartenburg, SC; one son, Jason Garrett of young Harris, GA; one step-son, Ted Teague of Young Harris, GA; three brothers, J.T., Gerald and J.D. Garrett, all of Hiawassee, GA; two sisters, Janet Bidelman of Hiawassee, GA and June Brookshire of Cornelia, GA; two grandchildren, Kyler and Colton Garrett of Young Harris, GA; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services were held on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 3 p.m. from the Banister Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Ledford and the Rev. Bill Dyer officiating.

mrs. catherine boe

 

Mrs. Catherine Boe, age 99, of Young Harris formerly of Pahokee, FL, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2006 in the Chatuge Regional Hospital following an extended illness.  Mrs. Boe was born on Nov. 6, 1906 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of the late Francis Buchanan and the late Pamela Webb Buchanan.  She was a native of Charleston, SC, but had live in Pahokee since 1921.  She was owner and operator of Boe’s Electrical Appliances in Pahokee and Belle Grade for over fifty years.  She graduated from Canal Point High School.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Olaf Boe.  She loved and grew orchids.  Mrs. Boe was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pohokee.

Surviving Mrs. Boe are one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Wayne Hundley of Young Harris, F.E. Boe of Pahokee, FL, four grandchildren, Christa Munson, Eric Boe both of FL, Marie Hundley of Young Harris, Scott Hundley of Gwinnett County, GA, four great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the Canal Point Baptist Church in Canal Point, FL, with the Rev. Doug Nicholson officiating.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Eric Boe, Scott Hundley, Sylvester Corona, Norman Cole, Michael Cole and Francisco Marfil.  Interment followed in the Port Mayaca cemetery.
