mr. carl eugene davis, sr.

 

Mr. Carl Eugene Davis, Sr., age 78, of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2005, in Hiawassee.

Mr. Davis was born Thursday, November 18, 1926 in Hardee County, FL, to the late Raymond J. Davis and the late Mamie Allbritton Davis.  He attended the House of Prayer Interdenominational Church in Blairsville, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Palatka, FL.  Mr. Davis had been a deacon and Sunday School teacher.  He was a World War II Navy veteran, and had been active in the American Legion in FL.  Mr. Davis was a graduate of the Cincinnati College of Funeral Service.  He was preceded in death by brothers: Robert Davis, O.A. Davis, Furris Davis, Jeff Davis and Lewis Davis; and by sisters, Lorene Norris and Velma Coker.

Survivors include his wife, Jean; three sons: Carl E. Davis, Jr., Richard A. Davis and Don Davis; two daughters: Linda Peacock and Terry Haney, all of Hiawassee, GA; and a sister, Lucille Stephens, of Arcadia, FL; 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren also survive.

Graveside services were held Monday, March 14, 2005, at 11 a.m., from Union memory Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. Jerry Helton officiating.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Michael Gale, Robert Davis, Casey Cox, Dai Davis, Kent Carringer, and Ryan Davis.  The following gentlemen served as honorary escort to the family: Caylan Tanner and Christopher Tanner.

ollie scott woolfolk

 

Mrs. Ollie Scott Woolfolk, age 92, of Hiawassee, GA (formerly of Plant City, FL) passed away on march 14, 2005 in Chatuge Regional Nursing Home following a brief illness.  She was born to the late Alfred and Lillie Mae (Turner) Scott on July 4, 1912 in Marion County, GA.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Hoke S. Woolfolk.  She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Clara Sloan, of Tampa, FL; sons & daughters-in-law, Clay and Barbara Woolfolk, of Hiawassee, GA, and Bob and Faye Woolfolk, of Shreveport, LA; sisters, Mrs. Alpha Mae Corbitt, of Plant City, FL; Mrs. Inez Keen, of High Springs, FL; Mrs. Marie Jones, of Opp, AL; and Mrs. Doris Norris, of Ruskin, FL; nine grandchildren, and a number of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews also survive.  Funeral services were held at Wells Memorial Funeral Home in Plant City, FL.  Interment was in Mt. Enon Cemetery, also in Plant City, FL.  Local arrangements by Banister Funeral Home of.
