Mrs.
Elizabeth “Lizzie” Howell, age 97 of Atlanta, GA, formerly of
Hiawassee, passed
away Sunday, March 22, 2009.
Mrs.
Howell was born Monday, September 11, 1911 in Rabun
County, GA to the late Jess Wall and the late Ellie Mae Eller Wall. She was a member of Lower Hightower Baptist
Church since 19233 and was preceded in death by husbands, Steve Hudson,
Carl
Spiva, Sr. and Wiley Howell, son, Carl Spiva, Jr., grandson, Anthony
Arrowood
and four sisters.
Survivors
include: daughter, Rachel Smith of Stockbridge,
GA, daughter, Barbara Spiva of Decatur, GA, daughter, Mary Arrowood of
Anderson, SC, son, Arthur Spiva of Atlanta, GA, daughter, Ann Wilson of
Hiawassee, GA, brother, Willard wall of Clarkesville, GA, six
grandchildren,
ten great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren several nieces
and
nephews.
Funeral
services were held Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 2 p.m. from Lower
Hightower
Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Cantrell officiating.
Music was provided by Lower Hightower Baptist
Church Choir. Interment was in Lower
Hightower
Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as
pallbearers were: David Burton, John Sutton, Jeff Stewart, James
Robers, Dennis
Wall and Charles Addis.

edwina
dawn (brown) garrison
Mrs.
Edwina Dawn (Brown) Garrison age 50 of Pat Colwell Rd., Blairsville
passed away
on Friday, March 27, 2009 in the Union General Hospital following an
extended
illness. Mrs. Garrison was born on June
6, 1958 in Towns County, the daughter of the late Clayton Brown and the
late
Jennie Sue Lance Brown. She was a
lifelong resident of Union County.
Edwina was a woman full of love.
She enjoyed gardening and watching wildlife.
Her joy was her grandchildren. She
was a loving wife, mother, sister and
grandmother. Mrs. Garrison was a member
of Youngstown Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs.
Garrison are her loving husband, Tim Garrison of Blairsville, two sons
and
daughters-in-law, Chad and Kaye Rich of Blairsville, Trint and Christa
Rich of
Blairsville, one brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Maria Brown of
Holly
springs, GA, niece and nephew, Clay and Kristi Brown, four
grandchildren,
Lance, Cayden, Katie and Bentley Rich, many other relatives and friends
also
survive.
Funeral
services were held on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. from the
Mountain View
Chapel with the Rev. Jonathan Hood officiating.
Special music was presented by Jonathan Adams and Rhonda Hood. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers, Scotty Jarrard, Levi Kendrick, Casey Jones, Donnie Hudson,
Scott
Garrison and Michael Plott. Serving as
honorary pallbearers were Bill Parker, D.L. martin, Danny Kendrick,
Jack
Stephens, W.H. Hood, Don Neil and Tony Henderson. Interment
followed in the Union memory
Gardens Cemetery.
