knox campbell

 

Mr. Knox Campbell, 72, of Young Harris passed away March 21, 2004.  A native of Hall County, GA, Mr. Campbell was a veteran of the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart.  He also received the good conduct medal, national defense service medal and received the distinguished unit emblem sharpshooter badge with rifle bar.  He was a lifetime member of the D.A.V.

Survivors include daughters, Tonia K. Weaver and Angela J. Trout, both of Young Harris; son, Jeffrey S. Campbell of Cleveland; sisters, Doris Reynolds of Oakwood, Jeanette Cagle of Gainesville; seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were Wednesday, march 24, 2004 at 2 pm in the chapel of McDonald & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA.  Rev. Billy Cannon officiated.  The following gentlemen were pallbearers: Matthew Weaver, Caleb Weaver, John Campbell, Tommy Cagle, Max Puett, and Bobby Sexton.  Interment with Military honors were held in Alta Vista Cemetery.

Tincie janie hicks

 

Tincie Janie Hicks, age 83, of Hiawassee, GA passed away on April 2, 2004 in Chatuge Regional Nursing Home.  She was born to the late Johnson and Leona (Shook) Hicks on March 20, 1921 in Polk Co., TN.

She is survived by sister, Donnie Berrong of Hiawassee, GA; sister-in-law, Lorraine Hicks of Hiawassee, GA; and sister-in-law, Rebel Hicks of Clarkesville, GA.  A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held at Lower Hightower Baptist Church on Sunday, April 4, 2004 at 2:00 pm.  Interment was in Lower Hightower Baptist Church cemetery.  Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.

ruby jane anderson

 

Mrs. Ruby Jane Anderson, age 72, of Hayesville, NC, passed away Monday, March 29, 2004, at North East Georgia Medical Center.

Mrs. Anderson was born May 9, 1931, in Towns County.  She attended North Mt. Zion Church of God.  Mrs. Anderson was the daughter of the late Ed and Elizabeth (Garrett) Dills.

She is survived by: her husband, Clifford Anderson of Hayesville, NC; children, Cathy Martin of Lilburn, GA, Charles Edward Hogsed of Hiawassee, GA, Sandra Clark of Hayesville, NC, Larry Hogsed of Lawrenceville, GA and Tim Hogsed of Cumming, GA; brothers and sister, Gerald Dills of Ohio, Jessie Brown of Murphy, NC, E.J. Dills of Alabama and Lamar Newton of Chatsworth, GA; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, march 31, 2004 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Raburne Wilson and Rev. Glen Eller officiating.  Music was by the Wilson Family and Kim Farmer.  Pallbearers were Mike Woody, Chip Parker, Craig Hogsed, Brandon Hogsed, Jason McDonnell and Dustin Martin.  Interment was in Lower Bell Creek Baptist Church.

Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, GA in charge of arrangements.

jerry stroud

 

Mr. Jerry Stroud, age 58 of Hiawassee, GA passed away March 28, 2004 following a period of declining health.  He was preceded in death by mother, Minnie Stroud; father, Frank Stroud, and brothers, James William Stroud and Keith Allen Stroud.  He was born to the late Frank and Minnie (Carter) Stroud on January 1, 1946 in Clay Co., NC.

Mr. Stroud is survived by one step-daughter, Linda McAllister of New Mexico; one step-son, Rondal Stroud; four sisters, Nancy Garrett of Hiawassee, GA, Judy Smith of Young Harris, GA, Mary Conaster and Peggy Mashburn of Hayesville, NC>

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, march 31, 2004 at 2:00 pm at Shiloh Baptist Church in Hayesville, NC with the Rev. Rickey Burrell, and the Rev. Clark Moss officiating.  Pallbearers were: Charles Lands, Travis Bryson, Kevin Conaster, Michael Carter, Michael Kephart and Dean Garrett.  Interment was in the Ledford Chapel.  Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
