            Mrs. Jimmye S. McNabb, age 73 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2008         following a period of declining health.  She is the daughter of Robert “Leon” and Zelma Frances Short Swanson.  She was born in Cherokee County, NC on December 14, 1934.

            She is survived by her mother, Zelma Swanson, of Murphy, NC; husband of fifty-three years, Tommy McNabb, of Hiawassee, GA daughter, Sherry Wassmann, of Acworth, GA; sons, Robert “Eddie” McNabb and Randy McNabb, both of Flowery Branch, GA; sisters, Sara “Bobbie” Carter, of Greensboro, NC and Jean Barnard, of Simpsonville, SC; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 2 p.m. from Woods Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Darryl Dale and Rev. Danny Burch officiating.  Music was provided by pat Jones.  Pallbearers were: Bobby McNabb, Jess McNabb, Andrew Tiller, Paul Wassmann, Dwayne Helton and Jonathan Helton.  Honorary pallbearers were: Jason McNabb and Tony shook.  Interment was in Woods Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. 

            Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of the arrangements.

charlain lowry craciun

 

            Charlain Lowry Craciun, age 62 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Thursday, march 27, 2008 at her residence.  Charlain was born Sunday, October 21, 1945 in Fulton County, Georgia to Zelma Dixon Petty of Monroe, GA, and the late Charles Petty.  She was a member of Clarkston United Methodist Church and The Order of the Eastern Star.

            Survivors, including her mother, are her sons, James Gregory Lowry of Lawrenceburg, IN, and Timothy Charles Lowry of Hiawassee, GA; brother, Charles Petty of Harrisburg, AR; sister, Jan Bingham of Hiawassee; 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Cochran Funeral Home-Hiawassee Chapel with Rev. Harold Ledford and Pat Coleman officiating.  Music was provided by Christopher Casbarro, Tommy King and Sandra Bishop.  Interment followed in laurel Hills Memorial Gardens.  Serving as pallbearers were the following gentlemen: John Ashe, Jr. Chastain, Morgan Wheeler, Barry Heddon, Clint Turpin and Tony Turpin.  The family received friends at the funeral home from 6-9, Friday, March 28.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to Regency Hospice.
