mr. charlie vaughn

 

Mr. Charlie Vaughn, age 87, of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Monday, April 3, 2006 at Chatuge Regional Hospital.  Mr. Vaughn was born Monday, July 8, 1918 in Fulton County, Georgia to the late Leo David Vaughn and Ruby Wilson Vaughn.  He was a member of McConnell memorial Baptist Church, Yaarab Shrine Temple, Red Devil Clowns and an U.S. Army Veteran survivor of Pearl Harbor.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Vaughn and daughter, Wanda Vaughn.

Survivors include: wife, Juanita Vaughn of Hiawassee, GA, sons, Chuck Vaughn and wife, Rose of Tulsa, OK and David Vaughn and wife, Teresa of Kennesaw, GA, step-daughter, Sheryl Fletcher and husband, Charlie of Dawsonville, GA, step-son, Benny Brooks and wife, Janice of Dawsonville, GA, brother, Bob Vaughn and wife, Jean of palm Bay, FL, grandsons, Jarrad Vaughn, Allen Walker, Jeff Brooks, Kenny Brooks, Robby Brooks, Shane Fletcher and Randy Fletcher, granddaughter, Kelli Bishop, seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 6, 2006 at 11 AM from the McConnell Memorial with the Dr. Rudy Patton officiating.  Music was provided by Tawny and Shane Fletcher.  Interment was in Westview Cemetery, Atlanta at 4 p.m. with Rev. Allen Walker officiating and with military graveside honors.  Serving as pallbearers were: Jarrad Vaughn, Allen Walker, Jeff Brooks, Shane Fletcher, Randy Fletcher, Daniel Bishop.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: McConnell memorial Baptist Church in memory of Charlie Vaughn.

mr. grady edwards

 

Mr. Grady Edwards, age 87 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at Chatuge Regional hospital.  Mr. Edward was born Wednesday, April 2, 1919 in Towns County, GA to the late Oscar T. Edwards and Mae Arrowood Edwards.  He was a member of North Mt. Zion Church of God.

Survivors include: wife, Bonnie Lee Edwards, of Hiawassee, son, Rev. Chester Edwards of Dalton, GA, daughter, Norene Cimino of Norcross, GA, daughter, Sue Dills of Lilburn, GA, son, Carl Edwards of Hiawassee, GA, daughter, Glenda Stephens of young Harris, GA, 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 8, 2006 at 2 PM from the North Mt. Zion Church of God with the Rev. Raburne Wilson and Rev. Chester Edwards officiating.  Music was provided by Rev. Raburne Wilson Family and Elizabeth Plott.  Interment was in Burch Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were: Matthew Dills, Justen Cimino, Mark Edwards, Barry Edwards, Chris Edwards, Christopher Edwards.  Honorary pallbearers were: Cory Ellis, Cody Edwards, Nathan Edwards.

mrs. eunice mae brown

 

Mrs. Eunice Mae Brown, age 83, of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Chatuge Regional hospital.  Mrs. Brown was born Monday, September 25, 1922 in Johnston County, NC to the late Charles Holloman and Mary Parrish Holloman.  She had lived most of her life in Wilmington, NC and Coral Springs, FL and was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Survivors include: husband, Charles Daniel Brown, of Hiawassee, daughter, Linda Jones of Port Saint Lucie, FL, sisters, Mary Parrish of Wilmington, NC and Viola Macland of Fayetteville, NC, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

A memorial service was held Sunday, April 9, 206 at 2 PM from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with the Mr. Peter Inman officiating.

mrs. martha mabelle judd

 

Mrs. Martha Mabelle Judd, age 85, of Hiawassee, GA passed away on April 4, 2006 following a period of declining health.  She was born to the late David Empire and Annis (Wheeler) Langston on October 4, 1920 in Dooly County, Georgia.

She is survived by one daughter, Faith Heer of Young Harris, GA, one son John E. Judd III of Duluth, MN and two brothers, James Lewis Langston of Macon, GA and Edmond Langston of Hawkinsville, GA.  A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

No local services are planned at this time.

Mr. Vaughn William Chastain, age 82 of Marietta, GA, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2006 at Northside Hospital.  Mr. Chastain was born Friday, August 24, 1923 in Towns Co. GA to the late William Joe Chastain and Nola Jane Shook Chastain.  He was preceded in death by wife, Erma Lee Chastain, brother, Jay Chastain, Sr. and L.V. Chastain.

Survivors include: daughter & son-in-law, Janie and Harrison Tallant of Cumming, GA, son & daughter-9n-law, Steve and Pat Chastain of Acworth, GA, sister, Reba Walls of Hiawassee, GA, sister and brother-in-law, Beatrice and Chuck Creed of Hiawassee, GA, sister, Marie Henson of Smyrna, GA,  brother and sister-in-law, Nelson and Jackie Chastain of Hiawassee, GA, brother and sister-in-law, Ervin and Linda Chastain of Stone Mountain, GA, sister-in-law, Eunata Chastain of Hiawassee, GA, sister-in-law, Gaynell Chastain of Hayesville, NC, grandchildren, Kevin and Heather Tallant, Julie and Jason Simmons and Stephaine and Bart Milner, great grandchildren, Branson Simmons and Maddie Grace Tallant, brother-in-law, Haschal Nicholson of Marietta, GA, sister-in-law, Willa Nicholson of Marietta, GA, brother-in-law, Bill Cloer of Marietta, GA, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at 2 PM from the Union Hill Methodist Church with Rev. Tommy Lockhart and Rev. Cliff Duval officiating.  Music was provided by Brenda, Jen and Jarrod Bristol.  Interment was in Burch Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were: Steffon Chastain, Gary Walls, Jay Chastain, Jr., Wesley Chastain, Hollis Ensley, Jeffery Creed, Rodney Chastain.
