Georgia hyatt crawford

 

Georgia Hyatt Crawford, age 76, of Roswell, Georgia formerly of Young Harris, Georgia died Monday, April 10, 2006 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

A native of Young Harris, Georgia; she had resided in Roswell, Georgia for the past fourteen years.  She retired from Eastman Kodak in 1987, and has enjoyed her years spending time with her many loved ones.  Georgia was the daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude King Hyatt and was preceded in death by a brother, Rex Hyatt; and a sister, Evelyn Jordan.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie McCall and Tom McCall of Loganville, Georgia; a brother, Jerry Hyatt of White, GA.; three sisters, Edna Brown of Young Harris, GA., Faye Huskins of Cartersville, Ga. And Tina Stewart of Hayesville, NC; a grandson, Maj. Matthew Casey, Shaw Air Force Base in SC, his wife, Lisa Casey; a great-grandson, Jaxon Casey; a granddaughter, Heather Rutledge of Alpharetta, GA.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 PM, Thursday, April 13, 2006 at the Many Forks Baptist Church in Gum Log, Georgia.  The Rev. Billy stiles and Rev. R.L. Martin officiated.  Burial was in the Many Forks Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers were nephews: Wade Brown, Mike Hill, Danny Hyatt, Conway Clements, Floyd Marshall and Marvin Mull.  Honorary pallbearers were: Bill Hyatt, Jimmy Hyatt and Clay Ivester.

anyhony ernest arrowood

 

Mr. Anthony Ernest Arrowood, age 49, of Easley, SC, passed away on April 9, 2006 in a motorcycle accident.  He was born on September 27, 1956 in Towns County, Georgia.  He is survived by his parents, Ernest 7 Mary Arrowood, of Pendleton, SC; grandmother, Elizabeth Spiva, of Hiawassee, GA; daughter, Louiza “Bleu” Arrowood, of Easley, SC; brother, Ted Earl Arrowood, of Pendleton, SC; sister & brother-in-law, Sherri Denise & Jeff Stewart, of Powdersville, SC; one niece and one nephew also survive.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 2 p.m. from Lower Hightower Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Rumfeldt officiating.  Music was provided by the church choir and Rev. Chris Rumfeldt.  Pallbearers were Jim Wilson, Terrance Arrowood, Jeff Arrowood, Lynn Arrowood, Wilber martin, and Greg Garrett.  Interment was in Lower Hightower Baptist Church cemetery.  Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.

mr. doyle clarence ledford

 

Doyle Clarence Ledford, age 88, of Hayesville, NC died Thursday, April 6, 2006, at the Clay County Care Center in Hayesville, NC.

He was a native of Towns County, Georgia and had lived the last twenty-one years in Clay County, NC.  He was a retired farmer and a member of the Ledford’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Hayesville, NC.  Mr. Ledford was a son of the late Lewis Cass and Bellzona Savanah Coleman Ledford was preceded in death by three brothers, Olan Ledford, Dorman Ledford and Avery Ledford.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Faye Keenum Ledford; two daughters, Sandra Joan Moss of Stone Mountain, Georgia and Glenda Ledford of Anchorage, Alaska; one step-daughter, Mary Robinson of Murphy, NC; two step-sons, Gary Stiles of Murphy, NC and Lee Stiles of Spindale, NC; two sisters, Beatrice Burch of Mills River, NC and Dallas Henson of Otto, NC; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2006, at the Ledford’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Hayesville, NC.  The Rev. Jackie Sellers will officiate.  Interment will be in the Lower Bell Creek Cemetery in Hiawassee, Georgia.  Pallbearers will be: Louis Burch, Leroy Burch, Philip Ledford, Dwight Moss, Gregg Dean and Terry Robinson. officiating. 

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2006, at the Townson Rose Chapel in Hayesville, NC.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made In Memory of Doyle Clarence Ledford to the Ledford’s Chapel United Methodist Church, C/O Betty J. Ashe, 285 W.J. Cabe Road, Hayesville, NC 28904.

bobby eugene denton

 

Mr. Bobby Eugene Denton, age 69 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 following a period of declining health.  He was born to the late Harold and Susie (Arrendale) Denton on October 22, 1936 in Towns County, GA.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Odena Denton, of Hiawassee, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie & Leslie Denton of Hayesville, NC; son, Timothy Denton, of Hiawassee, GA; brothers, Edward, Jimmy and Phil Denton, all of Hiawassee, GA; five grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Ledford officiating.  Pallbearers were Buddy Littleton, David Ferguson, Scott Denton, Mick Denton, Max Lovingood and Terry Hamilton.  Interment was in Lower Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to Banister Funeral Home, P.O. Box 70, Hiawassee, GA 30546 to offset funeral expenses.
