Mrs.
Nova Lee Wilson, age 89 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Wednesday,
April 16,
2008 following a period of declining health.
She was born to the late Calvin and Lula Belle Parker McClure on
December 22, 1918 in Clay County, NC.
She is
survived by daughters, Sue Johnson, of Murphy, NC; Connie Marshall, of
Young
Harris, GA; son, Hugh Nicholson, of Homer, GA; sister, Doris Thomas, of
Blairsville, GA; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a
number of
nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 4
p.m. from Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Ledford officiating. Music was provided by Bobby Taylor. Pallbearers were her grandson and
step-grandson, Bryant and Brad Wilson. interment was in Macedonia Baptist Church
cemetery.

Mrs.
Virginia Macy Porter, age 79, of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Saturday,
April
19, 2008 following a period of declining health. She
was born to the late Walter R. and Thelma
Baity Macy on June 6, 1928 in Yadkin County, NC. She
was preceded in death by her husband,
James E. Porter in September 2007. Ginny
was a former member of Woods Grove Baptist Church.
She is
survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Darrell Midgette of
Kennesaw, GA; brother, Larry R. Macy of China Grove, NC; two
grandchildren,
Meredith Midgette Lovelace and Murray Midgette, Jr.; one
great-grandchild,
Charles Ryan Lovelace; and a number of friends and acquaintances also
survive.
Funeral
services were held on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 2
p.m. from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home with Rev. Darryl Dale
officiating. Music was provided by the
Cheerful
Sounds. Pallbearers were Ross Marshall,
Mike Marshall, John Ray Parker, jerry Harrington, and Thurman Roach. Interment was in Laurel Hills memory Garden
Cemetery.

Lyle James McConnell, age 79, of Young Harris, GA passed away on
Tuesday, April
15, 2008 following a period
of
declining health. He was born to the
late Edward R. and Mary Blanche Watts McConnell on November 12, 1928 in
Clay
County, NC. He was preceded in death by
his wife, Jimmie McConnell in 2004.
He is
survived by relatives and friends.
Graveside
services were held on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at
4 p.m. form Old Union Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Dewey Cox
officiating. Interment was in Old Union
Baptist Church
cemetery.

Elizabeth Washburn of Young Harris, GA, passed away at Chatuge Regional
Hospital April 17, 2008. She was born
September 19, 1931 in Comber Ontario, Canada to Wilfred and Avril
Wright. Margy was predeceased by her
parents and her
brothers, Vernon, Neville and Carl of Ontario.
She is
survived by husband, Don Washburn; sister, Marie Wright of St.
Catharines,
Ontario; daughter, Susan Reid and her husband Michael of Youngstown, NY
and
grandsons, Christopher (Chip) Reid of San Diego, Ca, Nicholas and
Patrick Reid
of Youngstown, NY.
Funeral
services were held on officiating.
There
will be a private family service in the near future
and interment will be at St. Georges Cemetery, Comber Ontario.
