Michele
Kimsey Ray, age 42, of Plant City, FL, formerly of Towns County, passed
away
Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at her home due to complications of Crohns
Disease. Michele was born Tuesday,
January 4, 1966 in Towns County, GA to L.E. Kimsey, Jr. and Carolyn
Johnston Kimsey. She was a member
of the East Side Baptist Church in Plant City, FL.
Michele was a graduate of the University of
South Florida.
Survivors
include: husband, Jerry Ray and sons, Adam and Caleb Ray of the home;
mother,
Carolyn Fulton of Young Harris; father, Junior Kimsey of Hiawassee and
brothers, Benny Kimsey of Sarasota, FL and Donald Kimsey of Young
Harris,
GA. Many other relatives and friends
also survive.
Funeral
services were held Monday, April 28, 2008 at 1 p.m.
from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Hogsed and Rev.
Denny
Moss officiating. Music was provided by
Rev. Denny Moss. Interment was in Osborn
Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Ray,
Allan Bone, Jeffrey Kimsey, Russell Hedden, Larry Hedden and John Dean. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that
donations may be made to a fund to be established for the college
education for
her sons c/o Jerry Ray, 1312 Mendonsa Rd., Plant City, FL 33563.

Joyce
“Red” Grant, age 81, of Hiawassee, GA died Friday, April 25, 2008 in a
Towns
County hospital. She was a native of
Clay County, but had lived in Hiawassee for the past 25 years. She was the daughter of the late Henry Robert
and Elzia Pearl Watson Buchanan and the wife of the late W.T. “Buck”
grant, who
died April 7, 1998. She was a homemaker
and was a member of the Meadow Grove Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her son,
Danny Grant, who died August 6, 1982.
Surviving are
her
daughter, Mary Lou Wilson of Douglasville, GA; two sisters, Esta
Berrong of
Hiawassee and Lillie Lunsford of McDonough, GA; two brothers, L.D.
Buchanan of
Blairsville, GA and James Buchanan of Hiawassee; and three
grandchildren,
Sherry Wilson of Villa Rica, GA, Johnny Ledford of Mt. Airy, GA, and
Teresa
Boswell of Brighton, TN; and a great-grandson and six
step-grandchildren.
Funeral
services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2008
in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with Rev. Jimmy
Rogers officiating. Interment was in the
Hayesville
Baptist/Presbyterian Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Johnny, Jeremy, and Jamey Ledford, Terry
Wilson, Bruce
Berrong, and Aaron Beck. The family
received friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home,
Hayesville.
