Cheryl Ann Eller, age 53, of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Sunday, may 1, 2005 at her residence.

Cheryl was born Saturday, February 9, 1952, in Towns County, GA, to Corene Arrowood Hunter of Hiawassee and the late Boyd Hunter.  She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include, in addition to her mother; husband, Rudy Eller of the home; step-daughters, Tina Smith of Conyers, GA and Kim Hudson of McDonough, GA; sister, Melba Blythe of Hiawassee; brother, Jackie Hunter of Hiawassee; sister-in-law, Judy Hunter of Hiawassee; brother-in-law, Danny Blythe of Hiawassee; 5 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, may 3, 2005 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Townley officiating.  Music was provided by Eagle Mountain Quarter.  Interment was in Pine Grove Baptist Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were: Eddie Osborn, Phil Hunter, Gene Penland, Jesse Matheson, Jamie Hunter, Ed Keener.

mr. william walter giles

 

Mr. William Walter Giles, age 59, of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 following a brief illness.  He was born to William Giles and the late Harriet (Norris) Giles on May 9, 1945 in Hall County, Ga.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Linda Giles, of Hiawassee, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Mel Denmon, of Cleveland, GA; and Susan and Jason Karnes, of Blairsville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Stacy Giles, of Homer, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Rebecca Giles, of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Christopher Giles, Stephen Giles, and Caleb Giles, all of Homer, GA; Austin Giles, of Cleveland, GA; and Caroline Karnes, of Blairsville, GA.  Funeral services were held on Friday, April 29, 2005 at 1 p.m. from North Mt. Zion Church of God, with Rev. Robert Mizell and Rev. Wayne Norris officiating.  Music was provided by Melissa Mashburn.  Pallbearers were Gene Armour, Harry Norris, Bradley Gooch, Mark Gooch, Tim Hurley, and Christopher Giles.  Interment was in Laurel Hills Memory Garden.  Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.

mr. charles parks clegg

 

Mr. Charles Parks Clegg, age 57, of Young Harris, GA passed away Monday, May 2, 2005 following a period of declining health.  MR. Clegg was an Eagle Scout, avid outdoorsman who loved fishing.  He was a member of Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church; a graduate of Towns County High School, Young Harris College, and Georgia Southern University.  He had worked for the Social Security Administration as Public Affairs Officer.  Surviving are his mother Mrs. Faye Harmon Clegg Hoag of Young Harris, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law George “Bud” and Dale Clegg of Dahlonega, GA; Randy and Becky Hoag of Brussels, Belgium; sister and brother-in-law Jean and Carl Minus of Cape Cod, MA and 7 nieces and nephews.  Memorials services were held Thursday, May 5, 2005 at 2 p.m. from the Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Kay, Rev. Fred Whitley, Rev. Patty Ryle Clay officiating.  Interment was in Old Union Cemetery.  Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.

edward ray giles

 

Edward Ray Giles, age 74, of Young Harris, passed away Friday, April 29, 2005 in Murphy Medical Center.

Edward was born on August 25, 2930 in Union County, GA to the late Garmon and Minnie (Hyatt) Giles.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Dockery Giles; sons, Carl Owenby and Terry Giles; daughter, Phyllis Giles; brothers, Roy John Giles and J.M. Herbert.  He was a member of Old Brasstown Baptist Church and VFW 7807 Garrett-Owenby Post

Survivors include: daughters, Vickie Buchanan of Dillsboro, NC, and Tammy Wiggins of Young Harris, GA; sons, Larry Owenby of Young Harris, GA and Roger Giles of Gainesville, GA; special friend, Pauline Young of Blairsville, GA; 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 1, 2005 at 3 p.m. from the Old Brasstown Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Stiles officiating.  Music was provided by the Gloryland Singers.  Interment was in Many Forks Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors by the North Georgia Honor Guard.  Serving as pallbearers were: Daniel Giles, Ray Giles, Steve Britt, Roger Owenby, Jerry Ivey and Donnie Ledford.
