SHAW, Dr. Martha Luelle 95, passed away May 6, 2005. Born in Adele, GA.  A resident of Hialeah, FL and Young Harris, GA.  She was a teacher and principal with Miami-Dade County Schools for 38 years, past faculty member of the U of Miami, and Young Harris College.  Member of the national D.A.R., the Huguenot Society, Kappa Delta Phi, and Sharp United Methodist Church.  A Memorial Service to be held at the Young Harris College Chapel.  In lieu of flowers donations to Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church or Young Harris College.

blanche ledford

 

Blanche Ledford, age 59, of Hiawassee, GA formerly of Hayesville, NC died Sunday, May 1, 2005 in the Chatuge Regional Hospital in Hiawassee, GA.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County, NC, and was of the Baptist Faith.  She enjoyed coloring, putting picture puzzles together, drinking coffee and watching television.  Blanche was a daughter of the late Horace and Etna Anderson Ledford, and was preceded in death by four brothers, Coy Ledford, Harold Ledford, Ralph Ledford and Morris Ledford; and a sister, Frances King.

Blanche is survived by two brothers and their wives, Newell and Margaret Ledford of Carrollton, Ohio and Clifford and Judy Ledford of Pensacola, Florida; three sisters and their husbands, Abbie and Harvey Sawyer of Canton, Ohio. Maxine and Leon Bradshaw of Hiawassee, Georgia and Jody and Harold Ledford of Blairsville, Georgia; several nieces and nephews; and a lot of friends and buddies.

Funeral services were held at 2 PM, Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at the Townson Rose, Frank Rose, Sr. Memorial chapel in Hayesville, NC.  The Rev. Curtis Ledford and Rev. Buford Ledford officiated.  Burial was in the Bethabara Baptist Church Cemetery in Hayesville, NC.  Pallbearers will be Horace Ledford, Jeremy Parks, Darren Bradshaw, Shane King, Harold Ledford, Scott Monkus and Tommy Moore.

Townson Rose Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements

mr. willis johnson “bill” moss

 

Mr. Willis J. “Bill” Moss, age 68, of Hiawassee, GA passed away at this home on May 5, 2005 following an extended illness.  He was born to the late Earnest and Hazel (Ledford) Moss, on December 6, 1936 in Towns County, GA.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ann Moss, of Hiawassee, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Rick Welch of Young Harris, GA; son, William Dean Moss, of Hiawassee, GA; brothers, jack Moss and Ronald Moss, both of Hiawassee, GA; grandchildren, Jaclyn Davenport, Shauna Gunn, and Houston and Heath Moss; great grandchildren, Slade and Zachary Davenport and Cheyenne Gunn.  A number of nieces and nephews also survive.  Funeral services were held at Lower Bell Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Satterfield and Rev. Clark Moss officiating.  Music was provided by the Moss Family.  Pallbearers were Lanier Moss, Anthony Hunter, Zeral Moss, Jessie Chambee, Michael Crane, and Bill Free.  Interment was in Lower Bell Creek Cemetery.  Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
