mary pauline “polly” eller

Mrs. Mary Pauline “Polly” Eller, age 77, of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2007 in Stanardsville, VA.  Mrs. Eller was born Thursday, January 23, 1930 in Towns County, Georgia to the late Walter Poole Roach and the late Nola Bowen roach.  Mary was a resident of Towns County for the majority of her life and had resided in Athens, GA from 1970 until her return to Hiawassee in 1998.  She was preceded in death by husband, Dock M. Eller; brothers, Carlos Roach, Richard Roach and jack roach; sisters, Sara Hensley and Margaret McManus.

Survivors include: son, Chuck A. Eller of Alpharetta, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Sallie E. and Thomas Bresnahan of Stanardsville, VA; grandson and wife, Thomas and Nicole Bresnahan; granddaughter, meg Fisher; grandson and wife, Timothy and robin Bresnahan; grandson and wife, Patrick and Kim Bresnahan; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Anna L. Walker of Raburn Gap; and an extended family of many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 14, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. from the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home with rev. Jim Blair officiating.  Interment was in Boyd’s Chapel Cemetery.

susan b. young

Susan B. Young, age 63, of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 following a period of declining health.  She was born to the late Ewald and Elsa Koehler Walther on June 30, 1943 in Erie County, NY.

She is survived by her husband, David Young of Hiawassee, GA; daughters, Suzanne Mulholland of Tampa, FL, LeeAnne Kam of Glenwood, NY, Lisa Wolf of Cheektowga, NY; step-daughter, Jennifer Young of Alexandria, VA; sons, Richard M. Chemelli of Plano, TX; step-son, Robert D. Young of San Diego, Ca; sister, Elaine Gilroy of Coggan, IA; six grandchildren; and a number of nephews also survive.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, May 12, 007 at 2 p.m. from all Saints Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Wesche officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to All Saints Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 2626, Blairsville, GA 30514 and notated to Mitochondrial Research.
