Kimalee
Lockaby, age 43, of Brasstown, NC died Saturday, May 10, 2008 in Fannin
County,
GA from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was
born in Towns County, GA, but had lived most of her life in Clay
County,
NC. She was a loving mother, grandmother
and daughter. She attended Little
Brasstown Baptist Church.
Kimalee is
survived by her mother, Barbara Ledford McCutcheon of Hayesville, NC;
her
father and step-mother, Junior and Becky Lockaby of Blairsville, GA;
grandmother, Lillie Ledford of Hayesville, NC; a daughter, Macayla
Lockaby and
fiancé Derek McCray of Brasstown, NC; a granddaughter, Alexis Price of
Brasstown, NC; a brother, Scott Lockaby and his wife Teresa of
Blairsville, GA;
a sister Stacy Quinton and her husband Rodney of Blairsville, GA; an
uncle,
Harold Ledford of Hayesville, NC and two aunts, Pauline Turner of
Hayesville,
NC and Debbie Farner of Hiawassee, GA and numerous nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Funeral
services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, may
14, 2008, at the Townson-Rose, Frank Rose, Sr., Memorial
Chapel in Hayesville, NC with Rev. Aud Brown and Rev. Curtis Ledford
officiating. Interment was in the Old
Shooting Creek
Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers
were Michael Turner, Roger Turner, Derek McCray, Josh Turner, matt
Taylor,
David Ledford, Wesley Jones and Scott Lockaby.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 13,
2008 at
the Townson-Rose, Frank Rose Sr., Memorial
Chapel in
Hayesville, NC. In lieu of flowers
donation may be made to the family at 9 Camille Lane, Brasstown, NC
28902.

ret. sgt. theodore “ted” bowen, msp
Theodore
“Ted” Bowen passed away in Hiawassee, GA on Tuesday, may 13, 2008 after
a short
battle with brain cancer. Mr. Bowen was
born Thursday, June 15, 1939 in Gardiner, ME.
He acquired his love for the outdoors from fishing and hunting
in the
western Maine area. Ted was proud to
have served the people of Maine as a State Police Trooper for 20 years. In 1983, he retired and moved to Georgia to
live with his family for his remaining years, taking up the skill of
taxidermy. He was a member of McConnell
Memorial Baptist
Church, and was active in missions work and the local community. MR. Bowen had served his county in the U.s. navy. He was
preceded in death by his father Asa Bowen; mother Ruth Nason Judd;
step-father
John Judd; step-mother Edith Bowen; sister-in-law, MaryLee Bishop; and
father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ligah and Bertie Hall.
Ted is
survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Carla Hall Bowen Young Harris;
daughter, Deborah and Curtis Blackwell, Cumming, GA; son, Douglas and
Debi
Bowen of Dimondale, MI; daughter, Allison and Larry Honea of Cumming;
sister,
Judy and Jimmy Shows, Jonesboro, LA; brother, Roland and Lynn Bowen,
San Ramon,
CA; brother, Calvin and Brenda Bowen, Soldotna, AK; brother-in-law and
his
wife, Ralph and Linda Hall; brother-in0law, Ivan and Reba Hall;
brother-in-law,
Tommy and Jill Hall; sister-in-law, Margaret and Gary Sutton;
brother-in-law,
J.R. Bishop; He was especially proud of
his grandchildren: Cpl. Jaryd (USMC) and Emily Blackwell, Jason
Blackwell,
Jason Blackwell, Meagan Honea, and Chadwick Honea, all of Cumming, GA.
Funeral
services were held Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 2 p.m.
from McConnell memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Rudy Patton and Rev.
Mark
Bishop officiating. Special music was
presented
by Henry Harnage, Elisabeth Lehotsky, Erika Claypool, and Pastor Patton. The family received friends at McConnell
Memorial Baptist Church for one hour before the service, 1-2 p.m., on
Thursday,
May 15.
Ted will
be missed by all those who loved him – his family,
friends, and the communities he served well.

American Cancer Society, Child Evangelism Fellowship, or to the Gideons
International, in memory of Mr. Bowen.

Mr.
Donald “Don” Raymond Davis, age 54, of Hiawassee, GA, passed away
Tuesday, May
13, 2008 at his home. Mr. Davis was born
Wednesday, April 14, 1954 in Putnam County, FL, to the late Carl E.
Davis, Sr.
and Jean Maltby Davis. He has been a
resident of the North Georgia area for the past 12 years, moving here
from
Palatka, FL. Mr. Davis attended the
North Mt. Zion Church of God. He was
preceded in death by his father, Carl E. Davis, Sr.; sister-in-law,
Gaynor
Davis and father-in-law, Gene Blair.
Survivors
include his loving wife, Ronna Blair Davis of Hiawassee; mother, Jean
Davis of
Blairsville, GA; daughter, Nancy M. Presley of Madisonville, TN;
daughter and
son-in-law, Karla and Jose Leon of Jacksonville, FL; son, Ryan Lee
Davis of St.
Augustine, FL; brother, Carl E. Davis, Jr. of Hiawassee; sister and
brother-in-law, Linda D. and Leo Peacock of Blairsville; brother and
sister-in-law, Richard A. and Karen Davis of Hiawassee; sister and
brother-in-law, Terry D. and Bill Haney of Blairsville; and
grandchildren,
Bethany, Carissa and Brenton Presley. many other relatives and friends also survive.
Graveside
services were held Friday, May 16, 2008 at 2 p.m.
from Union memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were the following
gentlemen: Carl E. Davis, Jr., Richard Davis, Ryan Lee Davis, Casey
Brandon
Cox, Anthony Bo Horton, Carl E. Davis, III, Robbie Davis, Jose Leon and
Ted
Blair. The family has established a fund
to provide for Mr. Davis’s gravemarker, and memorial contributions
should be
directed there.
