ramie ingram

 

Mrs. Ramie Ingram, age 87, of Arden, NC formerly of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2007 at John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC.  Mrs. Ingram was born Wednesday, March 31, 1920 in Yankton, SD to the late Henry and Caroline Poppe.  Mrs. Ingram lived in Hiawassee for over 20 years and was a former member of McConnell Memorial Baptist Church.  Mrs. Ingram was very active in the Appalachian Area Pregnancy Center.  She was a charter member of Towns County Hospital Auxiliary.  She had been chairman of the Mental Health Association in Ft. Pierce, FL and had been a member of the Florida State Mental health Board.  Mrs. Ingram was a member of Mills River Untied Methodist Church in Arden, NC.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Guy Ingram.

Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Sally and David Hutchins of Old Fort, NC; sister, Virginia Frobel of Bartlesville, OK; daughter of the heart, Marcia Deaton of Hiawassee, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 21, 2007 at 11 a.m. from the Hiawassee United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Thompson and Pastor Harry Sellers officiating.  Music was provided by Steve Carson and Pastor Danny Byers, eulogies were given by Judge David Barrett and Lorraine Jerrigan.  Interment followed in Osborn Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Gary Deaton, Steve Holland, Bob Ghiotto, Bryant Ivey, Mike Worthy, and Rick Jerrigan.  The family received friends at the church from 10-11 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2007.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made in Mrs. Ingram’s memory to your favorite charity.

lethia marela wold

 

Mrs. Lethia Mareia Wold, age 54, of Rustic Ridge Trail, Young Harris went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 13, 2007 from the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.  Mrs. Wold was born on January 12, 1953 in lake Wales, FL, the daughter of Alma Wasden Wold and Peter Shiver.  Lethia was a loving daughter and a friend to all who knew her.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Wold in 1999.  Mrs. Wold was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Wold are her mother and father, Alma and Pete Shiver of Young Harris; one aunt, Tula King of DeLand, FL; two nieces; three nephews; many cousins; many other relatives and friends also survive.

No services are planned at this time.  In lieu of flowers, if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the M.S. Foundation or to the Union County Nursing Home in Mrs. Wold’s memory.

jerry william sosebee

 

Mr. Jerry William Sosebee, age 55, of Townsend Mill Rd., Young Harris passed away on Monday, May 14, 2007 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness.  Mr. Sosebee was born on November 5, 1951 in White County, GA, the son of Elnora Powell Sosebee and the late Elmer Sosebee.  He was a lifelong resident of Towns County.  Mr. Sosebee was a member of West Union Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Sosebee are his mother, Elnora Sosebee of Young Harris; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Jean Thomas of Young Harris, Edith and Earl Hunter of Lilburn, GA; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Geraldine Sosebee of Buford, GA, Donald and Amanda Sosebee of marble, NC, Fred and Carolyn Sosebee of Gainesville, GA, George and Wanda Sosebee of Young Harris; several nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the West Union Baptist Church with the rev. Jerry Young and Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating.  The body lay in state at the church from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.  Special music was presented by Larry Nichols.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Brian Underwood, Phillip Brown, Paul Shook, Max Lovingwood, Frank Uhle and Eddie Bradley.  Interment followed in the Church Cemetery.  The family met with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-9 p.m.
