mr. james clyde mckinney

 

Mr. James “Clyde” McKinney, age 77, of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 following an extended illness.  He was preceded in death by his son, Mr. Stephen McKinney in 2002.  He was born to the late Owen and Pauline (Sims) McKinney on February 23, 1928 in Towns County, GA.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Juanita McKinney, of Hiawassee, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ben Ferguson, of Roswell, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Brenda McKinney, of Gainesville, GA; sister, Mrs. Carolyn Cheeks, of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.  Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 19, 2005 at 2 p.m. from Lower Hightower Baptist Church with Rev. George Fortner officiating.  Music was provided by Brownie Anderson and Nola Jean Nicholson.  Interment was in Lower Hightower Baptist Church cemetery.  Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.

floyd m. thomas

 

Floyd M. Thomas of Young Harris, GA passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2005.  He was born in Woburn, MA on December 23, 1925.  His parents were Floyd Lewis Thomas and Helen Munson Thomas.  He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.  In 1984 he retired from Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., and moved from New Hampshire to the north Georgia area.  His first wife Marjorie Gardner Thomas and his son-in-law Clifford Summey preceded Floyd in death.  Survivors include his wife Linda of the home, four children and seven grandchildren.  Brian, Laurie, Trevor, and Torii Thomas of Salem, NH, Robert (Bob), Cindy, Karianne and Bobby Thomas of Dover, NH, Margery, George, Charlene and Tommy Lamper of Alton, NH and Linda and Joshua Summey of N. Charleston, SC.  A memorial service will be held at McConnell Memorial Baptist church in Hiawassee, GA on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 3 p.m.  In lieu of flowers anyone desiring to do so may make contributions to Regency Hospice, 236 South main St., P.O. Box 494, Hiawassee, GA 30546.
