paul henry wimpey

 

Paul Henry Wimpey, age 53, of Chatsworth, GA., (formerly of Young Harris, GA.) passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2004 at Chatsworth Health Care Center following a period of declining health.  He was born to the late Arthur and Velma (Ferguson) Wimpey on November 5, 1950 in Towns County, GA.  He is survived by a brother, Richard Wimpey of Clarkesville, GA; sister, Lee Etta (Nell) Ramey, of Clarkesville, GA; sister, Nora Bell Dale of Ellijay, GA; sister, Evelyn Jean England, of Blairsville, GA; Annie Mae Jackson, of Dalton, GA; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held on June 2, 2004 from the chapel of Bannister Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating.  Interment was in Trackrock Baptist Church cemetery.

Banister Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

mrs. selma sparks brown

 

Mrs. Selma Sparks Brown, age 84, of Young Harris, GA., passed away Sunday, May 23, 2004 in Chatuge Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Brown was born August 29, 1919 in Towns county, GA., a daughter of the late Omar and Ester (Gibson) Sparks and had lived here all of her life.  She was a member of Many Forks Baptist Church.  Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Henry Brown; brothers, Edwin Sparks and Audie Sparks; sisters, Edna Shook and Claudie Sparks; stepsons, Grady Brown and Cliff Brown.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Margie Ballard of Hiawassee, GA; sons, Billy Brown, Gary Brown and Doyle Brown, all of Young Harris, GA; daughters, Sandra Jean Anderson of Warne, NC, Maudine Goodwin of Hiawassee, GA., and Claudine McClure of Young Harris, GA; fourteen grandchildren, thirty six great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 26, 2004 from Many Forks Baptist Church with Rev. Cecil Anderson, Rev. Doyle Brown, Rev. R.L. Martin officiating.  Music was provided by Stewart Nichols and Cody Cantrell.  Pallbearers were Ricky Brown, Barry Brown, Gerald Denton, Michael Denton, Brian McClure, Joseph Wood, Kyle Wood and Brandon Barrett.  Interment was in the Church Cemetery.

Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, GA., was in charge of arrangements.
