mrs. janette jean scarborough

 

Mrs. Janette Jean Scarborough, age 63, of Wildwood Lane, Young Harris, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2004, at her home following an extended illness.  Mrs. Scarborough was born on October 1, 1940 in Milligan, NE., the daughter of the late Charles L. Petracek and the late Germaine Beranek.  She was employed as a training officer with the US Postal Service for several years.  Mrs. Scarborough was of the Methodist Faith.

Surviving Mrs. Scarborough are her loving husband of ten years, Melvin Scarborough of Young Harris, a nephew, Jim Burney, nieces, Melissa Hinesley of Maryland, Tracey Hoffman of MD., Lisa Cisk of NC., many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced.  In Lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorial donations may be made to the “Make a Wish Foundation: in Mrs. Scarborough’s memory.

mr. rome franklin manus

 

Mr. Rome Franklin Manus, age 38, of Lawrenceville, formerly of Towns County passed away on Tuesday following injuries received in a work related accident.  Mr. Manus was born on March 22, 1966 in Towns county, the son of Kenneth Manus and Dorothy Lovell Manus.  He was employed at the time of his death by Arcadia Heating and Air.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Bradley in 2000 and by a niece, Danielle Manus in 2004.  Mr. Manus was a native of Towns County and a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. manus are a loving daughter, Courtney Manus of Lawrenceville, father and step mother, Kenneth and Sallie Manus of Young Harris, mother Dorothy Lovell of Hiawassee, a very special friend, Michelle Allison, one sister and brother in law, Renee and Robert Penland of Hayesville, two brothers and sister in laws, Rodney and Donna Manus of Hiawassee, Ricky and Cindy Manus of Blairsville, grandmother, Mary Ruth Craig of Cleveland, nieces, Elaina Lindsey, Christina Bradley, Brooke Pendland, nephews, Dallas Manus, Reece Penland, Black Manus, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Friday June 4, 2004 at 2 p.m. from the Macedonia Baptist Church with the rev. Anthony Dye officiating.  Special music was presented by Bobby Taylor.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Steven Kirby, Kenny and Kevin Barrett, Darren Chastain, Leonard Shafer, Hal Hook, Gary Lester and Harold Kilgore.  Interment followed in the church cemetery.

juanita creel foust

 

Juanita Creel Foust, 79, of Hiawassee, GA, died May 26, 2004.  Mrs. Foust was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Edward Foust and was the daughter of the late John Harley and Margaret Elizabeth (Bessie) Creel of Horry County, Conway, South Carolina.  After leaving Conway as a young adult, Mrs. Foust moved to Florida where she met her late husband and lived for many years.  Upon retirement and after the death of her husband she moved to Hiawassee, GA to be near her twin sister Wyoma Creel Bean and other family members.  Mrs. Foust was one of twelve children and was very family oriented.  Her constant thought and prayers were directed at her family members.  She is survived by a brother, Mr. Johnny S. Creel of Conway and two sisters: Mrs. Almeria Creel Turner of Salisbury, MD and Mrs. Wyoma Creel Bean of Ft. Myers, FL; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.

Cryptside services were conducted Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Southeastern Memorial Gardens, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that any bequests be made to the Margaret Elizabeth (Bessie) Creel memorial Fund and sent to the Conway Hospital Foundation, PO Box 829, 300 Singleton Ridge Road, Conway, SC 229528-0829.Funeral services were held on officiating.
