esther b. young

 

Mrs. Esther B. Young, age 93, of Murphy Rd., Blairsville passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2007 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.  Mrs. Young was born on February 21, 1914 in Broome, NY, the daughter of the late Manley Bellinger and the late Nina Earls Bellinger.  She had made her home in Blairsville since 1999, moving here from St. Cloud, FL.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Leander Young in 1976 and by a brother, Floyd Bellinger in 1940.  Mrs. Young was of the Protestant faith.

Surviving Mrs. Young are one daughter and son-in-law, Willa Mae and Leonard Zeh of Blairsville; one brother, Duncan Bellinger of Howes Cave, NY; one niece, Ilene Gaffney of Cobleskill, NY; six grandchildren, Phillip Zeh, Kelly Ferguson, Brian Zeh, Sherrie Zeh, Lisa Jones and Kimberly Rosas; many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  In lieu of flowers, if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the House of Prayer Church in Mrs. Young’s memory.

john crews ringland

 

Mr. John Crews Ringland, age 88, of Rocky Circle, Blairsville passed away on Friday, June 8, 2007 in the Heritage health Care in Blue Ridge following an extended illness.  Mr. Ringland was born on May 2, 1919 in Toronto, Canada, the son of the late Hans Ringland and the late Mabel Crews Ringland.  He was a veteran of the Canadian Air Force of WWII.  He was an office manager of lake Side Village for over fifteen years.  Mr. Ringland was of the Protestant faith.

Surviving Mr. Ringland are his loving wife of forty-one years, Geraldine Ringland of Blairsville; one daughter, Barbara Burns of Vancover, Canada; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Pete and Kiki Ringland of Tahiti, Granger Ringland of Roechester, NY, Michael and Patricia Nolan of Ft. Wayne, IN; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild; many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, June 10, 2007 at 4 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Father Richard Wise officiating.  In lieu of flowers, if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to United Hospice, 5004 Appalachian Hwy., Blue Ridge, GA 30513 in Mr. Ringland’s memory.

james harold crump

 

Mr. James Harold Crump, age 82, of Blairsville, GA, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2007 at his place of residence.  Mr. Crump was born Wednesday, March 11, 1925 in Union County, GA to the late Frank Crump and the late Carrie Lovell Crump.  Harold was a member of harmony Grove Baptist Church, and WWII Army Veteran, having served in the European Theatre.  He was preceded in death by brothers, Donald and Edward Crump and sisters, Georgie Crump and Lounedah Avera.

Survivors include: wife, Marie Crump of Blairsville; daughter and son-in-law, Jamie Sue Thebert and Bill Thebert of New Milford, CT; sister, Emma Jane Turner of Lilburn, GA; sister, Joyce Tanner of Snellville, GA; sister, Billie Jo Cardot of Lilburn, GA; brother, J.D. Crump of Griffin, GA; granddaughter, Emily Thebert; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Stacy Dyer, and Rev. Tommy Jones officiating.  Music will be provided by Scott Lance.  Interment will follow in Union memory Gardens Cemetery in Blairsville.  Serving as pallbearers are the following gentlemen: John Crump, Russell Cardot, Frank Turner, Kevin Turner, Dale Hamby, and Johnny Hamby.  Honorary pallbearers include the following gentlemen:  “Willard Cardot, Jack Dillard, Joe Dillard, Dennis Hamby, and Andy Gwynn.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9, Tuesday, June 12.
