david eugene ditmore

 

The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces the services for Mr. David Eugene Ditmore, age 48, of Winder, GA who passed away Friday, June 11, 2004 in an Atlanta hospital.

Mr. Ditmore was born in Aiken SC on October 31, 1955.  He had lived in Denver, CO before moving to Atlanta when he was 17 and had lives in Hiawassee a few years before moving to Winder.  He worked as a pipefitter for Ford Motor Company in Hapeville, GA and was a son of the late Jake and Helen Matherson Ditmore.

Surviving are his wife, Tedra Gibson Ditmore of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Phillip Winkler of Hiawassee; step-daughter, Morgan Ditmore of Young Harris; step-son, Jonathan Ditmore of Young Harris; granddaughter, Katelyn Patterson of Hiawassee; grandson, Jacob Patterson of Hiawassee; sister, Sharon Martin of Hiawassee; brothers, Michael Ditmore of Dawsonville, GA and Richard Ditmore of Hiawassee; 2 nephews, 1 great-nephew and several cousins.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 14, 2004 in the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Prophetess, Kimberly Taylor officiating.  Burial was in Lower Bell Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  Gentlemen who served as pallbearers were Mike Farrek, Sam Ditmore, Fred Munoz, Jake Ditmore, Kenny Campbell, Mike Hedden, Kent Scuggs and Jeff Borenstein.

The family received friends from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

james harold stockton

 

James Harold Stockton, age 63, of Young Harris, GA, formerly of Franklin, NC, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2004 in a Hiawassee, GA hospital.  He was a native of Macon County, a son of Bessie Bingham Stockton of Franklin, NC and the late Grady Ranford Stockton.  He was a brick mason and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.  He was retired from Petrolane Gas Company.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Luanne Queen Stockton; two daughters, Tammy Gibson and her husband Scotty of Franklin, NC and Lisa Munger and her husband Robert of Young Harris, GA; one brother, Mickey Stockton of Franklin, NC.  Two grandchildren, Travis Gibson and Jamie Munger also survive.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Jean Stockton.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 10th at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Don Moffitt, Rev. Eddie Stillwell and Rev. Josh Brooks officiating.  Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Michael Stockton, Mat Mason, Jackie Mason, Scotty Gibson, Rick Stoudemire, Randy Stoudemire, Leon Ramey, Terry Roberts, and Larry Moore.  Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Stoudemire, Junior Crowe, Paul Larsen, Charlie Hartzog, Michael Mishi, Frank Mason, Jim Hughes, and Wayne Queen.

The family received friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Bryant Funeral Home.

herbert wayne deaton

 

Mr. Herbert Wayne Deaton, age 64, of Jones Gap Rd., Hiawassee passed away on Friday, June 4, 2004 at his home following an extended illness.  Mr. Deaton was born on March 16, 1940 in Atlanta, GA, the son of the late Herbert Howard Deaton and the late Naomi Johnson Deaton.  He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.  Mr. Deaton attended the Victory Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Deaton are his loving wife of thirteen years, Gloria Bristol Deaton of Hiawassee, step-children, Susan and Randy Rowlee of Seat, WA, Sheila and Tim Tinjum of Seat, WA, one brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Marci Deaton of Hiawassee, Niece, Heather Deaton of Hiawassee, one grandson, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 11, 2004 at 7 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Tim Jones officiating.  Special music will be presented by the Jennings Bristol family.  The North Georgia Honor Guard will be in charge of military honors.  The family will meet with friends following the service.
