Mrs. Sharon Dockery, age 43, of Young Harris, GA, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2006 at her residence.  Mrs. Dockery was born Thursday, December 6, 1962 to the late Frank and Ellar Stuman.

Survivors include: husband, Jerry Dockery of Young Harris, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Amanda and Franklin Bridges of Oakwood, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Dave Best of Chicago, IL; niece, Nichole Best of Chicago, IL.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the Many Forks Baptist Church with the Rev. R.L. Martin officiating.  Music was provided by Brenda Hemphill and Bonnie Henderson.  Interment was in many Forks Baptist Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Dave Best, Steve Dockery, Stanley Dockery, Kenneth Davis, Bobby Stuman, Larry Dockery.

david john (dj) Goodenough

 

David John (DJ) Goodenough, Jr., age 27, of Young Harris, GA, formerly of Rhode Island, passed away Monday, June 12, 2006.

David was born Sunday, November 5, 1978 in Norwick, CT to David John Goodenough, Sr. and Ann Mathews Goodenough.

Survivors include; mother, Ann Goodenough of Young Harris, GA; step-father, Greg Chabotte of young Harris, GA; father, David John Goodenough, SR of RI; paternal grandparents, John and Margaret Blinn of Texas; sister, Stacy Gustafson, RI; sister, Misty Goodenough of Young Harris, GA; sister, Breena Goodenough of Young Harris, GA; brother, Greg Chabotte, Jr. of Young Harris, GA; sister, Nicole Schuknecht of Valdosta, GA; two nieces and two nephews.

Visitation services were held Thursday, June 15, 2006.

joseph (joe) q. thomas

 

Mr. Joseph (Joe) Q. Thomas, age 90, of Young Harris, GA passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2006 following an extended illness.  He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Paul L. Thomas, Sr.; a brother, Mr. Paul L. Thomas, Jr., Mr. Tensley Thomas, and son, Mr. Joe Q. Thomas, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lois E. (Sellers) Thomas of Young Harris, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Barbara & Clarence Collins of young Harris, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Diris & Winston Farmer and Judy & Leon Henson, both of Hiawassee, GA; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jean Thomas of Young Harris, GA; sister & brother-in-law, Earlene & J.R. Huggins of Bristol, VA; sister & brother-in-law, Ivalee & Fred Sims of Young Harris, GA; sister-in-law, Monita Thomas of Blairsville, GA; sister-in-law, Arlene Thomas of Marietta, GA; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 19, 2006 at 2 p.m. from Old Union Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Hogsed officiating.  Music was provided by Track Rock Singers.  Pallbearers were Gregory Howell, Thomas Henson, Barry Collins, Eddie Bradley, Jeff Lowe, and Tony Hamby.  Interment was in Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
