lillie daphnie dockery

Mrs. Lillie Daphnie Dockery, age 47, of Dockery St. Young Harris passed away on Saturday July 2, 2005 in the Chatuge Regional Nursing Home following an extended illness.  Mrs. Dockery was born on Sept. 8, 1957 in Rome, GA., the daughter of the late Donald Helton and the late Rosita Shedd Helton.  She had been a resident of Towns and Union Counties for the past thirty years.  Mrs. Dockery was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mrs. Dockery are her loving husband of fifteen years, Junior Dockery of Young Harris, two daughters and one son-in-law Tammy and Mike Bitner, Tina Cato all of Columbus, GA, one son Billy Jones of Columbus, one brother, Kenneth Helton of Calhoun, GA, four sisters and tow brother in laws, Carolyn and Ronald Dunn of Caloun, Frankie Cooper of Waynesville, GA, Tracy Allen of Fairmount, GA, Michelle and Edgar Lee of Blairsville, two grandchildren, Kasey and Cody.  Many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Monday July 4, 2005 at 11 am from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating.  Lillies favorite selection of hymns were presented for the funeral.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Tommy Dockery, James Dockery, Jeffrey Dunn, Harold Henderson, Ronnie Dunn, Justin Helton, Brian Ellis, Ronald Dunn and Wesley Hooper.  Interment followed in the Ebenezer Baptist Church cemetery.

lizzie gibson

Lizzie Gibson, 94 years old of Hiawassee, GA, died Monday, June 27, 2005 in Chatuge Regional Nursing Home.

She was born Monday, July 11, 1910 in Clay County, NC, to the late Jim Ellis and the late Dochie Anderson Ellis.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Gibson and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughters, Carol Jean Ledford of Hiawassee, GA, and Orene Crowe of Holly Springs, GA; son, Harold Gibson of Jasper, GA; sister, Leoma Enloe of Murphy, NC; 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Cochran Funeral Home, Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Carl Morrow officiating.   Serving as pallbearers were: Tim Ledford, Johnny Gibson, Michael Gibson, Billy Ledford, Henry Gibson, and David Gibson.  Honorary pallbearers included: Carl Easter, Scotty Duckworth, Terry Fountain, Bill Wood, and Daniel Hernendez.  Interment followed in the Bethabara Baptist Church Cemetery, Hayesville, NC.
