lillie daphnie dockery

 

Mrs. Lillie Daphnie Dockery, age 47, of Dockery St. Young Harris passed away on Saturday July 2, 2005 in the Chatuge Regional Nursing Home following an extended illness.  Mrs. Dockery was born on Sept. 8, 1957 in Rome, GA., the daughter of the late Donald Helton and the late Rosita Shedd Helton.  She had been a resident of Towns and Union Counties for the past thirty years.  Mrs. Dockery was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mrs. Dockery are her loving husband of fifteen years, Junior Dockery of Young Harris, two daughters and on son-in-law, Tammy and Mike Bitner, Tina Cato all of Columbus, GA, one son Billy Jones of Columbus, one brother, Kenneth Helton of Calhoun, GA, four sisters and two brother in laws, Carolyn and Ronald Dunn of Caloun, Frankie Cooper of Waynesville, GA, Tracy Allen of Fairmount, GA, Michelle and Edgar Lee of Blairsville, two grandchildren, Kasey and Cody.  Many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Monday July 4, 2005 at 11 am from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating.   Lillies favorite selection of hymns were presented for the funeral.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Tommy Dockery, James Dockery, Jeffrey Dunn, Harold Henderson, Ronnie Dunn, Justin Helton, Brian Ellis, Ronald Dunn and Wesley Hooper.  Interment followed in the Ebenezer Baptist Church cemetery.

mr. charles e. drake

 

Mr. Charles E. Drake, age 73, of Young Harris, GA, passed away Friday, July 8, 2005 at Union General Hospital.

Mr. Drake was born Monday, March 28, 1932 in Augusta, GA to the late Homer Drake and the late Josie Cramer Drake.  A member of the Zebulon Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Marines.  He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Matthew Bailey.

Survivors include: wife, Roberta Drake; daughter, Joanne Bailey; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and James Willis; grandsons, David Bailey and Jeremy Willis; granddaughter, Ashley Willis; three great grandchildren and brother, Homer Drake.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 10, 2005 at 3 p.m. from the Zebulon Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Jenkins officiating.  Music was provided by Pat McCall, Deanna Webster, Junior and Carolyn Bridges.  Interment was in Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery.
