Mr. Jule Clyde Wood, age 69 of Young Harris, GA passed away on July 10, 2003.  Mr. Wood was born in Towns County, GA on July 31, 1934 to the late Robert and Annie Foster Wood.  He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Louise Wood.  He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict.  Surviving Mr. Wood are his wife, Mrs. Donnie Wood of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Glenda Hooper of Hayesville; Mrs. Golda Kolvder of Blairsville and Mrs. Barbara Tucker of Hiawassee; one son, Mr. Dale Wood of Young Harris; two brothers, Mr. Pope Wood of Hiawassee and Mr. Sam Wood of Canton, Ohio; four grandchildren, Timothy Wood, Craig Wood, Adam Tucker and Hope Kolvder; one great grandchild, Dustin Hooper.  Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Wood were held on July 13, 2003 at 2:00 pm at Lower Hightower Baptist Church with Rev. Harrison Bradley and Rev. Harold Ledford officiating.  North Georgia Honor Guard conducted the military honors.  Interment was also in Lower Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery.  Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee was in charge of the arrangements.

j.b. mcfalls, jr.

 

Mr. J.B. McFalls, Jr., age 56, of Hiawassee, GA passed away Thursday, July 10, 2003 in Atlanta at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Mr. McFalls was born October 21, 1946 in Towns County, a son of the late J.B. and Ruby (Gibson) McFalls.  He was a member of South Hayesville Church of God.

Survivors include: his wife of 39 years, Jean McFalls of the home; daughter, Melissa Winkler of Hiawassee, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Kristy McFalls of Hiawassee, GA; stepfather, Ellis Rogers of Hiawassee, GA; sisters, Mary Polly, Wilma Cote’ and Sheryl Tench, all of Hiawassee; brother, Ray Rogers of Hiawassee; grandchildren, Mandy Harwood, Branden McFalls and Corbin Williams, all of Hiawassee.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 13, 2003 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Truman Foster and Ronnie Coffee officiating.  Music was provided by James Goodwin.  Pallbearers were Jerry Turpin Cleveland Wade, Derek Burch, Jimmy Ledford, Jay Polly and Sammy Johnson.  Honorary Pallbearer was Ray Rogers.  Interment was in Lower Bell Baptist Church Cemetery.

Arrangements were made by Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, GA.
