kenneth ivester
Mr. Kenneth
Ivester, age 67, of Young Harris, GA, passed away Friday, July 25, 2008 at his
home. Mr. Ivester was born Saturday,
October 12, 1940 in Clay County, NC, to William Herbert Ivester and the late
Mary Jeanette Mills Ivester. He was a
member of Pine Log Baptist Church.
Survivors include
his loving wife, Marilyn “Mert” Ivester of Young Harris; father and
step-mother, Hub and Ruth Ivester of young Harris; sons and daughters-in-law,
Odell and Tonya Ivester of Clay County, NC, and Jennings and Dena Ivester and
Brian and Carrie Ivester, all of Young Harris; grandchildren, Cody, Haley,
Kerri, Blake and Payton, and a special little girl, Bailey, sister and
brother-in-law, Frances and Glen Teems of Young Harris; uncle Clay Ivester of
Clay County, NC; Aunt, Eloise Carroll of Canton, Ohio; niece, Glenda Clayton
and nephew, Stanley Teems, both of Young Harris..
Funeral
services were held Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 3 PM from the Pine Log Baptist
Church with the rev. Tom Leatherwood and Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Music was provided by Bill England and Keith
Miller. Interment was in Pine Log
Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were the
following gentlemen: Ed McClure, Cecil Penland, Ted Barnes, max Reece, Kenny
Barnard, Ricky Cantrell and Ed Cantrell.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may
be made to pine Log Cemetery or to Regency Hospice.

bruce ledford
Mr. Bruce
Ledford, age 70, of Young Harris, GA, passed away Monday, July 21, 2008 at his
home.
Mr. Ledford was born Saturday, July 2, 1938 in Towns Co.,
GA, to the late Guy and Rendie Chastain Ledford. He was a member of old Union Baptist Church,
and a US Army Veteran. He was preceded
in death by a brother, Bryce Ledford.
Survivors
include: wife, Abigail Johnston Ledford of Young Harris, GA, daughter, Angela
Ledford of Hiawassee, GA, son & daughter-in-law, Robert 7 Ashleigh Ledford
of Kokomo, IN, brother, Bronze Ledford of Auburn, GA, sister &
brother-in-law, Brenda & Myron Turner of Blairsville, GA, sister, Belinda
post of Douglasville, GA, sister & brother-in-law, Bivian and Harry Hughes
of Blairsville, GA, grandchildren, Alexis Ledford, Caleb Ledford, Joshua
Ledford, Aunt, Bessie Owens of Hiawassee, GA, several nieces, nephews, many
cousins and friends.
Funeral
services were held Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. from the Old Union
Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Hogsed officiating. Music was by Margaret Dendy and Sam
Ensley. Interment was in Osborne
Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Pallbearers were Burton Turner, Michael
Ledford, Donald Kimsey, Ray Sutton, Fred Martin, Bretney
Turner. The Class of ’57 served as
honorary pallbearers.
