raymond a. taylor

 

Mr. Raymond A. Taylor, age 56, of Hiawassee, GA., passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Mr. Taylor was born September 5, 1946 in Towns County.  He attended North Mt. Zion church of God.  He was preceded in death by his father, Miles W. Taylor; brothers, Miles Benjamin (Bud) Taylor, David Taylor and sister, Deborah Taylor.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Taylor of Hiawassee, GA; mother, Delia Taylor of Hiawassee, GA; step-daughters, Angela M. Matheson of Hayesville, N.C., Andrea M. Lindemuth of Hiawassee, GA., Donna A. Matheson of Hiawassee, GA., and Alisa M. Shiflett of Hayesville, N.C.; sisters, Dorothy Cantrell of Blue Ridge, GA., Glenda Neace of Hiawassee, GA., Carol Moore of Gainesville, GA., Violet Brown of Hiawassee, GA., Margaret Ledford of young Harris, GA., Cathy Oakley of Warne, N.C., and Sadie Sullens of Dahlonega, GA; brothers, Harvey Taylor of Gainesville, GA., Floyd Taylor and Michael Taylor, both of Dallas, GA., and John Taylor of Kennesaw, GA; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 31, 2003 at North Mt. Zion Church of God with Rev. Raburne Wilson and Rev. Glen Eller officiating.  Music was provided by Marki Griggs, Tommy Matheson and Rev. Willis Watkins.  Pallbearers were Randy Jackson, Keith Taylor, Ronnie Neace, Michael Neace, Timothy Sullens and Ben Brown.  Honorary pallbearers were Josh Taylor, Caleb Taylor, Donald Lindemuth and Cody Shiflett.  Interment was in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, GA., was in charge of arrangements.
