Mr. Roy
Harrison Davis, age 85, of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Tuesday, July 20,
2008 at
North East Georgia Medical Center.
Roby was
born Tuesday, April 24, 1923 in Carroll County, GA,
to the late J. L. Davis and the late Dollie Smith
Davis. He had lived in Hiawassee
since 1982 and was a
member of Atlanta/Northlake Lodge #98 B/P.O. Elks, V.F.W. Post 7807,
Hiawassee. HE was a WWII Army Veteran
and was preceded in death by wife, Lucille Davis.
Funeral
services were held Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 11 AM from the Cochran
Funeral
Home with Rev. Harold Ledford officiating.
Interment was in laurel Hills Memorial gardens with military
honors
conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
Serving as pallbearers were: members of V.F.W. Post 7807.
In lieu
of flowers donations may be made to V.F.W. Post
7807, Hiawassee, GA.

Mr.
Oliver
Edwards, age 90 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2008
at
Chatuge Regional Nursing Home.
Mr.
Edwards was born Friday, July 26, 1918 in Towns County,
GA to the late Jim Edwards and the late Lillie Ramey Edwards. He attended Macedonia Baptist Church and was
a custodian for many years with the Towns County School system. He was preceded in death by wife, Hazel Kirby
Edwards.
Survivors
include: daughter & son-in-law, Edith and Mac McNeese of
Brownsburg, IN,
son & daughter-in-law, N.L. and Becky Edwards of Hiawassee, GA,
grandson, Jeff
Edwards, granddaughters, Sheree Dippel and Phyllis Clemons, great
grandchildren, brandy Campbell, Cody Edwards, Alyssa and Kelly Dippel,
Noah and
Chantel Clemons, great great grandson, Adian Campbell, brother, Isaac
Edwards
of Canton, OH and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral
services were held Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 2 PM from the Chapel of
Cochran
Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Ledford officiating.
Music was provided by the Phillips
Family. Interment was in Burch
Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers
were: Derwin Adkins, Richard Langston,
Randall McConnell, Bruce Spiva, Truett Spiva, and Dennis Mathis. Honorary pallbearers included: Dale Penland,
and Don Rowe.
