quentin r. brewer

 

Mr. Quentin R. Brewer, age 87, of Young Harris, GA passed away Sunday, August 6, 2006.

Mr. Brewer was born October 1, 1918 in West NY, New Jersey to the late Ruben and Teresa Klipper Brewer.  He was a WII Army veteran, a honorable life member of the Elks Lodge, Hawaii and was a member of Hayesville Church of Christ.  After service in the Army, he was a professional dancer for many years, after which he moved to Honolulu, HI, where he was an insurance adjuster and owned a furniture business.

Survivors include his wife, Martha H. Brewer; step-children, Donna F. Strickland, Debbie F. Yingling, and Dan J. Fagan; 7 step-grandchildren, 4-ster-great-grandchildren, and 4 cousins.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at 2 p.m. from Hayesville Church of Christ with Minister Porrest Chapman officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Regency Hospice on NE Georgia, PO Box 494, Hiawassee, GA 30546.

dana deann plott humphries

 

Mrs. Dana Deann Plott Humphries, age 30, of Young Harris, GA passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2006 following a brief illness.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Dorothy Plott.  She is survived by her husband, Mr. Marvin Humphries, of Young Harris, GA; father, Mr. Odell Plott of Young Harris, GA; brother, Mr. Emory Plott of Young Harris; step-daughter, Julie White, of Gainesville, GA; step-sons and daughters-in-law, Richard & Jenny Humphries of Young Harris, GA; Kenny & Lisa Humphries of Gainesville, GA; and step-son, Jeff Humphries of Gainesville, GA; seven step-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild, and a niece, Chandra Plott.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home with Rev. Rayburn Wilson and Rev. Lester Sutton officiating.  Music was provided by Rev. Rayburn Wilson.  Pallbearers were Allen Hazelwood, Scooter Hazelwood, Rick Hazelwood, Dell Hazelwood, Donnie Tomlinson and Jeff Arrowood.  Interment was in Old Union Baptist Church cemetery.
