Mr.
William
David Jones, age 49, of Nichols Rd., Young Harris, GA, formerly of
Thompson,
GA, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at his home following a
brief
illness. Mr. Jones was born on Nov., 14,
1958 in Gwinnett County, GA, the son of Kelley Jones
and
Ellen Hawes Jones. David was a
loving husband, father, son and brother.
He spent a lot of his time riding his Harley.
Mr. Jones was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving
are his loving wife, Brenda Yarbrough Jones of Young Harris, one
daughter,
Melissa Jones of Lawrenceville, one son, Adam Jones of Lawrenceville,
his
parents, Kelley and Ellen Jones of Lawrenceville, his older sister,
Melinda
Jones Bowling of Dacula, one brother, Danny Jones of Norcross, a
younger
sister, Kelley Ann Albertson of Ellijay, GA, many other relatives and
friends
also survive.
A memorial service
will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2008 with the Rev. Rick Ledford
officiating. In lieu of flowers if you
wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to a local nursing
home of
your choice in memory of David.

Mrs.
Edith Jean Tocarchick, age 87, of State Hwy. 66, Young Harris, passed
away on
Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Tocarchick was born on Feb. 5, 1921 in
Ontario Canada, the daughter of the late Frank Vendle and the late
Julia Dubuis
Vendle. Edith enjoyed cooking for family
and friends and knitting. She was
preceded in death by her husband, John Tocarchick.
Mrs. Tocarchick was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving
Mrs. Tocarchick are four daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Eddie
Whitlock of
Young Harris, Dawn and Danny Free of Walls, MS, Louann and Ian Trobett
of
Crossville, TN, Penny and P.Q. Paquell of Orlando, FL, fourteen
grandchildren,
three great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also
survive.
A memorial
service will be held at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family
requests that memorials may be made to the American Breast Cancer
Society in
memory of Mrs. Tocarchick.

Floyd
Edgar Nichols, age 86, of Young Harris, GA, passed away Friday, July
25, 2008
at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Retired
from Firestone, Mr. Nichols worked in Akron, OH, and for many years
overseas. He was preceded in death by
his parents William Jefferson Nichols and Myrtle Justice, Brother
William “WJ.”
Jefferson Jr., and his first wife Edna Mae
Brown.
Survivors
include wife Lena Nichols, sons Keith and Gary, sister
Ruth Henson, grandson Austin, granddaughter Moko, step-daughter and
husband
Eliana and Trent Peck, and a number of great grandchildren, step-sons,
step-grandchildren, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral mass
is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008 at St. Francis of
Assisi
Catholic Church in Blairsville, GA.
Interment will follow at the St. Clare’s Haven.
The Rev. Richard Wise will officiate.

Abner
C. Nicholson, 80, of Pasadena, TX, formerly of Towns County, GA, died
Monday,
(August 4, 2008). He was a native of
Towns County, but had been living in Texas for the past 48 years. He was the son of the late Abner and Myrtle
Anderson Nicholson. He served in the
Merchant Marines during WWII. Abner
retired after 23 years as a stationary engineer with General Foods
Maxwell
House Coffee Plant in Houston, TX. He
was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving
are his wife of 46 years, Alda Crawford Nicholson; a daughter, Carol
Moss of
Blairsville, GA; two step-daughters, Alisa Shelton of Huffman, TX and
Laquita
Stewart of Hayesville; a step-son, Andy Crawford of Baytown, TX; a
sister, Sue
Dillon of Quincy, WA; and six grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren.
A graveside
service was held at 1 PM Thursday, Aug. 7, in the Ledfords Chapel
United
Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Rondle Ford officiating. Pallbearers were Lee, Billy, and Austin Moss,
Kyle and Jay Chastain, and Jerrad Stewart.
The family
received friends from 11-12:15 PM Thursday at the Ivie Funeral Home,
Hayesville.
