linda bumpus woolley

 

Linda Bumpus Woolley, 55, passed away July 25th after an 18 month battle with breast cancer.  A small family service and scattering of ashes has been planned.

Linda leaves behind a large and saddened family, especially her husband of 30 years, Richard; sons, Christopher and Kyle; daughter-in-law, Greta; grand daughters, Julia and Jaclyn; parents, George and Marilyn; brother, George; sister, Karen; including their spouses, children and grandchildren; Aunt Flora; numerous cousins and many friends.

A 1965 graduate of Miami Central high School, Linda had been a flight attendant first with Northeast and then with Delta Airlines.  She ended her 34 years airline career as a supervisor, retiring after 9/11.

She has been a hospital volunteer, guardian ad litem, but preferred helping animals.  In lieu of flowers, she has asked that donations be made to Flamingo Gardens of Davie and the Wildlife Center of Ellijay, GA.

Linda died without regret, sadness or bitterness and she looked forward to joining the Lord.

florence irene blakeney

 

Mrs. Florence Irene Blakeney, age 85, of Hiawassee, GA passed away Friday, August 15, 2003 in Clay County Care Center.

Mrs. Blakeney was born January 16, 1918, in Cherokee, Kansas, a daughter of the late Royal W. and Josephine A. (Cox) Gudgen.  She moved to Hiawassee 20 years ago from Hollywood, FL.  Mrs. Blakeney was a member of Hiawassee United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Blakeney.

Survivors include: her daughter, Verna Guatney of Hiawassee, GA; grandchildren, Tanya Tarver of Leavenworth, Washington and Ardath Piston of Ketchikan, Alaska; sister-in-law, Leila Gudgen of stone Mountain, GA.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the Memorial building Fund of the Hiawassee United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 609, Hiawassee, GA.

Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, GA was in charge of arrangements.

zadie emma moore

 

Mrs. Zadie Emma Moore, age 95, of Young Harris, GA., passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at her home.

Mrs. Moore was born on June 2, 1908, in Towns County, a daughter of the late Rufus Andrew and Amanda (Russell) Ingram.  She was a member of the Old Brasstown Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Moore in 1998.

Survivors include: son, Tommy P. Moore of Lilburn, GA; daughters, Loretta Youngblood of Young Harris, GA and Sharon Hooper of Hiawassee, GA; grand children, Tony Hooper King and Tosha Hooper Brown, both of Hiawassee, GA and Tammy Moore Thomas of Monroe, GA; great grandchildren, Gentry Brown, Jordan Brown, Alexis King, Austin King, Alex King and Bryce Thomas; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held, Thursday, August 14, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Old Brasstown Baptist Church, with Rev. Billy Stiles officiating.  Music was by Willie Mae Puett.  Pallbearers were Joe Hall, Jerry Ingram, Clinton Moore, Ernie Gibson, Lonnie Marcus and Don Gregg.

Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, GA was in charge of arrangements. 

Funeral Home of Blairsville was entrusted by the family for the arrangements.
