Ann
“Mickey” Baisden, age 71, of Young Harris, GA, passed away Friday,
August 15,
2008 at her home. Mrs. Baisden was born
Wednesday, August 4, 1937 in Miami, FL, to the late Herbert Stanley
Jones and
the late Estelle Robinson Jones. She was
a member of Eastgate Church in Hiawassee. Mrs. Baisden had a special love for animals of
all kinds.
Survivors
include: daughters and sons-in-law, Robyn Jarrell and Don Hunter of
McIntosh,
FL, and Molly and Italy Marsh of Blairsville, GA, grandchildren, Kelly
and
Kristopher Jarrell and great grandchildren, Brittany and Dillon Jarrell.
Funeral
services were held Monday, August 18, 2008 at 5 PM from the Cochran
Funeral
Home with Apostle Greg Roberts officiating.
The family
received friends at the funeral home from 3-5 PM, Monday.
In lieu of
flowers, the family suggests that donations may e made to Eastgate
Church or to
the Eastgate Life Academy.

Mrs.
Bonnie
Copeland Crawford, 88, formerly of Hiawassee GA, passed away on August
14, 2008
in Montgomery AL. She was born June 17,
1920 in Royal Oak, MI to the late Winnifred and Leonard Copeland.
She was
preceded in death by a brother, Harry Copeland. She
is survived by two sons, Roger William
Crawford of Mancelona, MI, and Philip Donald Crawford of Wetumpka, AL;
two
granddaughters, Tiffany and Ashley, in AL; four nieces, all living in
MI.
Mrs. Crawford
graduated from Clawson High School in 1936; attended Detroit Business
Institute
9accounting); and was a retired hotel auditor.
She was an active volunteer in Towns County for the Chamber of
Commerce;
held the office of treasurer for AARP Chapter 1859 and the Humane
Society; was
a stepon guide for: Reach of Song”; worked tirelessly for SAFE at chili
suppers
and selling teddy bears; worked the ice cream booth at the Georgia
Mountain
Fair Anderson Music Hall; and was usher and took reservations for
Licklog
Players in Hayesville, NC. She loved her
little car which had over 200,000 miles on it and you saw her always
with her
signature dress code – a colorful neck scarf.
She was known to many of her friends in Hiawassee and Hayesville
as Bon
Bon and will be sorely missed. There
will be no local services.

Loraine
Nicholson Arrowood, age 71, of Hiawassee, GA, passed away on Tuesday,
August
12, 2008, following a period of declining health. She
was born to the late Uler and Pauline
(Shook) Nicholson on July 22, 1937 in Towns County, GA.
She is
survived by her mother, Pauline Nicholson of Hiawassee, GA; a daughter,
Teresa
Foster, of Hiawassee, GA; sons, Jimmy Arrowood, of Hiawassee, GA; James
Grindle
and Doyle Grindle, both of Gainesville, GA; thirteen grandchildren,
four
step-grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a number of nieces and
nephews
also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 2 PM from the chapel
of
Banister Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Ledford officiating. Pallbearers were Jason Grindle, Corey
Arrowood, Dakota Shook, Shane Grindle, Travis Foster and Josh Mylan. Music was provided by Sheila Eller. Interment was in Burch Cemetery.

Mr.
Thomas
Henry Leffler, age 78, of Hiawassee, GA, formerly of Brandon, FL,
passed away
Friday, August 8, 2008 at Crawford Long Hospital.
Mr. Leffler
was born Thursday, November 28, 1929 in Schuylkill Co., PA, to the late
John
and the late Eva Hoy Leffler. He was a U
S Air Force Veteran.
Survivors
include: wife, Pauline O. Leffler of Hiawassee, GA, daughter &
son-in-law,
Sherry and Victor Clites of Brandon, FL, sister & brother-in-law,
Josephine
& Dick Miller of Port Richie, FL, grandchildren, Tyler Clites,
Trevor
Clites, Michaela Clites.
Funeral
services were held Friday, August 15, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Cochran

Home with the Rev. Mike Stewart officiating.
Interment was in Laurel Hills memorial Gardens.

Little
Matthew Gage Patterson, age three months, of Mary’s Way, Young Harris,
went to
be with Jesus on Saturday, August 9, 2008.
Gage was born on may 1, 2008 in
Union County,
the son of Matthew Patterson and Amanda Chambers Patterson. Age was the sunshine of his parents, brother
and sister’s lives. He touched the lives
of all who held him.
Surviving
Gage are his parents, Matthew and Amanda Patterson of Young Harris, one
brother, Kalob Tanner, one sister, Kaytlin Patterson, both of Young
Harris,
grandparents, Richard Chambers and Joy Lance both of Warne, NC, Debbie
and
Arnold Patterson and Cindy Bryson all of Blairsville, great
grandmothers, Mary
Bryson and Daisy Mae Patterson, both of Blairsville, great-great
grandmother,
Geneva Bryson of Blairsville, several aunts, uncles, cousins, many
other
relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the
funeral home
chapel with the rev. Billy Stiles, Rev. Junior Maney and Rev. Glenn
Tanner officiating. The following
gentlemen served as
pallbearers, Brian and Christopher Patterson, Steve Beaver and Mark
Mulkey. Serving as honorary pallbearers
were Kalob Tanner, Federico Urbano, Chuck Ginosky, Donny Bovee and
Marshall
Cornett. Interment followed in the Old
Brasstown Baptist Church Cemetery. The
family met with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-9
p.m.
