joseph woodrow jackson

 

Mr. Joseph Woodrow Jackson, age 88, of Hiawassee, GA, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 following a period of declining health.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. ESTA Jackson in 2005.  he was born to the late William and Dove (Nichols) Jackson on August 15, 1917 in Towns County, GA.

He is survived by a daughter, Gail Ford of Hiawassee, GA; a son and daughter-in-law Phillip & Rita Jackson of Blairsville, GA; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jimmy Hogsed and Rev. Charles Abernathy officiating.  Music was provided by Ulysses and Dorothy Sampson.  Pallbearers were Keith Jackson, Derek Jackson, Jason Ford, Kelly Lord, Rex Hogsed, and Curt Dover.  Interment was in Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

james g. crisp

 

Mr. James G. Crisp, age 74, of Young Harris, GA, passed away Friday, August 11, 2006 at his home.  Mr. Crisp was born Monday, may 23, 1932 in Kentucky.  Mr. Crisp was a member of Old Brasstown Baptist Church.  He was also a veteran of the Korean War having served in the Air Force.

Survivors include: wife, Barbara Crisp of Young Harris, GA; son, Greg Crisp of California; son and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Yvonne Crisp of panama City, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Susan Crisp of Dallas GA; daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Driscoll Bell of Mayo, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Kay Wells and Lawrence Corbin of O’Brien, FL; daughter, Emma Jackson of Young Harris, GA; sister, Norma Jean Smith of North Manchester, IN; grandchildren, Sean, Crystal, Hayden, Jason, Winston, Leon, Benjamin, and Jackson and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 14, 2006 at 11 a.m. from the Old Brasstown Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Stiles officiating. Music was provided by Willie Mae Puett, Maxine Hughes, and Edward Vest.  Interment was in the Old Brasstown Baptist Church Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were: Jason Crisp, Hayden Crisp, Lonnie Marcus, Cecil Dye, Gerald Messer and Louie Hughes.  Honorary pallbearers included: Ernie Gibson, Clinton Moore, and Joe Norton.

susie galloway kimsey

 

Mrs. Susie Galloway Kimsey, age 84, of Young Harris, GA, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2006 following a period of declining health.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John Andrew Kimsey in 1985.  She was born to the late Francis and Fair (Mashburn) Galloway on February 24, 1922 in Union County, GA.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda & Paul Pamplin of Cumming, GA; son & daughter-in-law, Vernon & DeeDee Kimsey of Gainesville, GA; granddaughters and spouses, Cristen & Joe Dan Thomson and Alisha & Clark Howard; grandsons, Josh Kimsey and Brent Libby Howard.  A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held on Friday, August 11, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home with the Rev. Lester Sutton and Rev. Sami Ammari officiating.  Pallbearers were Clark Howard, Joe Dan Thompson, Brent Johnson, Tom Thompson, Alan McDaniel, land Bryan McDaniel.  Interment was in the Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
