Mrs.
Daris Jean Ledford Jones, age 63, of Ronald Phillips Rd., Young Harris,
passed
away on Friday Aug. 19, 2011 at her home following a brief illness. Mrs. Jones was born on Dec. 12, 1947 in Towns
County, the daughter of the late Taft D. Ledford and the late Bonnie
Lee
garrett (sic) Ledford. Daris was a
loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always there for her family and
friends. She was preceded in death by a
daughter, Melissa Marie McPherson in 1977. Daris was of the Church of
God
faith.
Surviving
Mrs. Jones are seven children, Kelvin Ledford of Blairsville, Anthony
C. Brown
of Mineral Bluff, Tina Michelle Franklin of Blairsville, Toby Lee Brown
of
Blairsville, Misty and Keith Strickland of Dawsonville, Gerry Shawn
Brown of
Blairsville, Kerry Shannon and Michael Lee Neace of Blairsville, two
brothers,
Glenn Ledford of Blairsville, Don and Margaret Ledford of Young Harris,
one
sister, Hilda Sue Parker of Jasper, sixteen grandchildren, seven
great-grandchildren,
many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Sunday Aug. 21, 2011 at 3 p.m. from the Mountain
View
Chapel with the Rev. Michael Youngblood and Rev. Johnny Barrett
officiating. Special music was presented
by Julia
Youngblood. The following gentlemen
served as pallbearers, Austin Franklin, Gerry Shawn Brown, Richard A
Schmalenberg, Tony Brown, Ricky Allen, Charles Allen and Dennis Prince. The family met with friends at the funeral
home on Saturday evening from 6-9 p.m.

Taylor
Jordan Phillips, age 21 of Hiawassee, GA passed away following an
automobile
accident. He was born to parents, Ronnie
and Susan (Burger) Phillips on June 14, 1990 in Gainesville, GA. He was preceded in death by grandfathers,
Richard Phillips, Felix Burger and step-grandfather, Dude Lewis.
He
is
survived by his parents, Ronnie and Susan (Burger) Phillips, of
Hiawassee, GA;
brother, Austin (Amanda) Phillips, of Hayesville, NC; grandmother,
Joann
Phillips; grandmother, Jean Livingston; great grandmother, Ruth Miller;
uncle,
Roger Phillips; niece, Jaden Phillips, of Hayesville, NC; and a host of
friends
also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Monday, August 22, 2011 at 2 PM from Macedonia
Baptist
Church with Rev. Harold Ledford and Rev. Scott Baugh officiating. Music provided by Ryan Wilson and Troy
Phillips. Pallbearers were: Adam
Sanders, Brandon Shook, Stephen Sofield, Stanley Skinner, Darren
Stewart, Greg
Shook, Jared Shirley, Chase Hill and Dewayne Green. Interment
was in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
