Robert
Lorne Foreman, 81 of Hiawassee, GA
died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Chatuge Nursing home (sic) in
Hiawassee following
an extended illness. Mr. Foreman was
born March 24, 1929 in Windsor Ontario, Canada to the late Rev. Sidney
Robert
Foreman and Greta Cooper Foreman. Mr.
Foreman was happily married for fifty-nine years to his wife Joan
Horner
Foreman. He attended Queens University
in Kingston Ontario, Canada and served in both the Royal Canadian Air
Force and
the Royal Canadian Navy. Bob’s love of
aviation began as a young child and continued throughout his life. Bob was also a gifted woodworker.
Bob was an active member of Good Shepherd
Episcopal Church, delivered Meals on Wheels and a member of the Lions
club; Bob
enjoyed volunteering with the Licklog Community Theatre and the Young
Harris
College Theatre.
Survivors include his loving wife,
Joan Foreman of Hiawassee, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bruce
Foreman of
Toronto, Ontario, Canada, David and Mary Anne Foreman of Lancaster,
Ontario,
Canada, one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Wesley Pethel of
Gainesville,
GA, one brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Sue Foreman, one sister and
brother-in-law, Valerie and Keith Farrell all of Vancover (sic), six
grandchildren, Catherine Foreman Crawford, Alison foreman (sic), Mary
Caitlin
Pethel, Madison Pethel, Callum Foreman-Tran and Kira Foreman-Tran, many
other
relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held on
Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 at 2 p.m. from the Good Shepherd Episcopal
Church in
Hayesville, NC with Father John Rice officiating. Special
music will be presented by Jerry
Taylor. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests that donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in
memory of
Bob. The family will meet with friends
following the services at the church.
