norma mccollum robinson

 

Mrs. Norma McCollum Robinson, age 94, of Hiawassee, GA passed away on August 28, 2006 following a period of declining health.  She was born on February 27, 1912 the daughter of the late John and Rosie (Bates) McCollum in Murray County, GA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Hubert P. Robinson in 1989, as well as sisters, Dorothy Colwell, Elizabeth and Ruth McCollum and a brother John McCollum, Jr.  She was a Charter President of the Palatka Chapter of the AAUW, and a Charter member of the Towns County AARP.  She was the Director of Library Services at St. Johns River Community College in Palatka, FL retiring in 1970.

She is survived by a daughter & son-in-law, Marilyn and Thomas Yorkovitch. Of Marble, NC; three grandsons, Ronald C. Ware, Jr. of Cocoa Beach, FL; Richard E. Ware, of Miami, FL; and John H. Biedenkapp, of Jacksonville, FL; one brother Lowell T. McCollum and a sister, Lois Haddix, both of Berea, HY; five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Berea Cemetery Mausoleum in Berea, KY, www.berea.onlinecommunity.com.

donald roy griffin

 

Mr. Donald Roy Griffin, age 94, of Young Harris, GA, passed away on September 1, 2006 following a period of declining health.  He was born to the late Chester and Blanche (Stuart) Griffin on September 29, 1911 in Washing ton State.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Margaret (Bright) Griffin.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Krivoshia of Young Harris, GA; sister, Mrs. Margaret Ostrander of Minneapolis, MN; two grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews also survice.

No services are arranged at this time.
