Mr.
Milton A. "Bucky" Hancock, age 70, of Lillian Dr., Hiawassee, passed
away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at his home following an extended
illness. Bucky was born February 15, 1941
in
Washington, DC a son of the late Milton and Jean (Baschlin) Hancock. He moved to this area in 1993 from
Springfield, TN. Bucky was a U.S. Army
Vietnam Veteran, an avid golfer and was a member of Chatuge Shores Golf
Club. He was preceded in death by his
first wife,
Patricia R. Hancock and a brother, Norman Hancock. Bucky
was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary
Catholic Church in Hayesville.
Surviving
Bucky are his wife, Judy Hancock of Hiawassee, two children, Dee Dee
and
husband Don Perry of Cedar Hill, TN, and Glen A. Hancock of Springfield
TN,
eight step-children, Celina Bradshaw of Seattle, WA, Wayne and Sheryl
Bradshaw
of Emmittsburg, MD, Dianna and Jeff DeWire of Mt. Airy, MD, Lesa and
Sid Hassel
of Thurmont, MD, Linda Friend and Dwayne Ledford of Myersville, MD,
Susan and
Troy Moore of Mt. Airy, MD, Wendy Bradshaw and Mark Fisher of Fairplay,
CO,
Ellen Beard of Mt. Airy, MD, grandchildren Aaron Perry and Patrick
Perry, ten
step-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.
Memorial
services for Bucky will be held Friday, September 16, 2011 at 12 p.m.
at the
Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hayesville with Father
George
Kloster officiating. The family will
receive friends at the church following the service. In
lieu of flowers memorials may be made to
Regency Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

David H.
Livingston,
74, of Young Harris, GA entered into rest on September 7, 2011. He was a member of Loudsville United Methodist
Church in Cleveland, GA. Mr. Livingston
was born on July 10, 1937 in Stedman, South Carolina.
Mr.
Livingston's
career in weather began in the United States Air Force in 1956, ending
with
retirement in 1992, as Chief Meteorologist of the Macon Weather Service
Office.
As a meteorologist stationed in Macon,
Mr. Livingston was recruited after Jimmy Carter's election to monitor
the
weather station at Peterson Field in Plains, GA whenever Carter flew in
and
out. He received many awards during his
career with the National Weather Service. Mr.
Livingston served as councilman for the
City of Helen and was active in the Republican Party of White County. Mr. Livingston attended school in Richmond
County, earning a degree in Business from Augusta College and a degree
in
Meteorology from Penn State. He was an
avid outdoorsman enjoying golf, hunting and sports with his children.
His
memory will
forever be treasured by his wife Jeanette Livingston of Hiawassee, GA,
sons, Ty
Livingston (April) of Maysville, GA, Clay Livingston (Sherri) of
Summerville,
GA, daughters, Kim Padgett (Craig) of Dahlonega, GA, Lynn Livingston of
Mobile,
AL, brother, James Livingston of Augusta, GA, sisters, Daphne Shepherd
of Beech
Island, South Carolina and Ruby Gomez of Brownsville, Texas. Thirteen grandchildren three great
grandchildren. He was preceeded (sic) in
death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Livingston, brothers, John
Livingston and
Smitty Livingston and sister, Jean Oglesby.
Funeral
services:
Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Union Hill United
Methodist
Church with the Reverend Dr. Don Maynard and Reverend Dr. Charles
Wilson
officiating. Music was provided by
Claudette Griffith. Interment was in the
Laurel Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers:
David Livingston, Barry Livingston, Kenny Oglesby, Todd Livingston,
Gene
Livingston and Jason Powell.
Funeral
services
were held at Union Hill United Methodist Church at 11:00 am on
Saturday,
September 10, 2011 in Hiawassee, GA.

Mrs.
Charlotte “Cheri” Hood, age 68, of
Pauline Rd., Young Harris passed away on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011 in the
Union
General Hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Hood was born on April 14, 1943 in Paterson, NJ, the
daughter of
the late Charles Boutieller and the late Margaret MacCauley Boutieller. Cheri enjoyed doing crafts.
She was a loving wife, cousin and was a
friend to many. Cheri was a member of
Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Hood are her loving
husband of eighteen years, Bart Hood of Young Harris, several cousins,
many
other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held at a
later date. In lie of flowers if you
wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Ebenezer
Baptist
church Cemetery Fund in memory of Mrs. Hood.
