Gaynor B. Davis, age 60, of Hiawassee, GA, died Monday, September 6, 2004 at Satilla Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.  Gaynor was born to the late Gordon and Winifred Burch Jenkins in Llynapia, South Wales, Great Britain.  She met and married her beloved husband of 38 years in 1966.  They moved to Waycross, GA in 1975 where they raised their family then moved to Hiawassee, GA in 2000.  Gaynor was a loving and devoted wife and mother, a shining example to her family and friends.  She was an extraordinary lady, who will be remembered for her sense of humor, her zest for life, her knitting projects she so loved to give to others and whose very nature drew people to her.  She so easily made friends of the many people she met.  She was strong in her Christian faith.  Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline.

Survivors include her husband Carl E. “Dave” Davis, Jr. of Hiawassee; three sons, Carl E. Davis III (wife Cree), Robert G. Davis (wife Pamela), and Shane A. Davis, all of Waycross; eight grandchildren, Gregory Davis, Madison Long and Brittany, Cassie, Davey, Matthew, Katie and Llewelyn Davis, all of Waycross; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Jan Jenkins; one sister and brother-in-law, Gillian and George Jenkins and beloved Auntie Jen, all of Llantrisant, South Wales, Great Britain; father and mother-in-law, Carl E. and Jean Davis; brothers and sisters-in-law Leonard and Linda Peacock, Richard and Karen Davis, Bill and Terry Haney, Don and Ronna Davis, all of Hiawassee along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  The family received friends from 3 to 4 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2004, at Mountain View Funeral Home.  A tribute to her life was held immediately after in the Funeral Home Chapel, followed by interment and graveside service at Memory Garden in Blairsville.  Pallbearers were Gary Denton, Keith McKinney, Mike Berrong, Gary Berrong, Brooks Nuss, Don Davis, Richard Davis, and Leonard Peacock.  Bill Haney served as honorary pallbearer.  Jacob Craig so graciously provided the music by playing the bagpipe during the services.  His final song, The National Anthem of Wales, was a fitting tribute to our Gaynor, who is and will always be affectionately known to all that love her as the “Flower of Wales”.  The family requests memorials be sent in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society at 5274 Craig Gap Rd., Blairsville, GA 30512 (706) 745-9242.

Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville was in charge of the arrangements.
